Claims
- 1. A light measuring device comprising:
- first means for measuring a brightness of a first area in an object field to produce a first brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the first area;
- second means for measuring a brightness of a second area in the object field to produce a second brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the second area;
- means for detecting whether a second brightness represented by the second brightness signal is higher than a predetermined highest brightness; and
- means for calculating a brightness of the object field in accordance with the first and second brightness signals when the detecting means detects that the second brightness is not higher than the predetermined highest brightness, and for calculating a brightness of the object field in accordance with the first brightness signal and the predetermined highest brightness when the detecting means detects that the second brightness is higher than the predetermined highest brightness.
- 2. A light measuring device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said calculating means includes means for converting, when the detecting means detects that the second brightness is higher than the predetermined highest brightness, said second brightness signal into a predetermined highest brightness signal corresponding to the predetermined highest brightness, to produce the predetermined highest brightness signal instead of the second brightness signal, when the detecting means detects that the second brightness is higher than the predetermined highest brightness, and means for calculating a brightness of the object field in accordance with the first and second brightness signals.
- 3. A light measuring device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first measuring means includes means for measuring a brightness of a central area in the object field to produce the first brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the central area, and wherein said second measuring means includes means for measuring a brightness of a surrounding area in the object field to produce the second brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the surrounding area. PG,37
- 4. A light measuring device comprising:
- first means for measuring a brightness of a first area in an object field to produce a first brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the first area;
- second means for measuring a brightness of a second area in the object field to produce a second brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the second area;
- means for comparing a second brightness represented by the second brightness signal with a predetermined highest brightness to produce the second brightness signal when the second brightness is higher than the predetermined highest brightness; and
- means for calculating a brightness of the object field in accordance with the first brightness signal and either of the second brightness signal and the predetermined highest brightness signal produced by the comparing means.
- 5. A light measuring device as claimed in claim 4, wherein said first measuring means includes means for measuring a brightness of a central area in the object field to produce the first brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the central area, and wherein said second measuring means includes means for measuring a brightness of a surrounding area in the object field to produce the second brightness signal indicative of the measured brightness of the surrounding area.
