Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an extendable instrument cabinet, and more particularly to one having an extension frame assembly connected to a rectangular framework to enhance its capacity by means of fasteners, a side frame and an end frame.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A convention instrument cabinet, as published in TW Utility Model No. M356203 is used for a machine or a server. The space of the apparatus room must be planned in advance, and the main frame of each instrument cabinet is assembled. Then, each instrument is mounted in each instrument cabinet. The loading capacity of each instrument cabinet is fixed, and the size of each instrument cabinet is not adjustable. In order to make good use of the space of the apparatus room, each instrument cabinet is against another one. This is not flexible for operation. When the instrument in one instrument cabinet needs expanding, there is no enough space for moving the cabinet. In addition, because the loading capacity of each instrument cabinet is fixed, it is not easy to update the instrument. Besides, the cables of the instrument are difficult to manage. Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve these problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

According to the present invention, there is provided an extendable instrument cabinet comprising a rectangular framework including four support racks erected at four corners thereof, an upper frame connected to upper ends of the four support racks, and a lower frame connected to lower ends of the four support racks to form front and rear ends and left and right sides, each of the upper frame, the lower frame and the support racks being formed with a plurality of through holes; and an, extension frame assembly including an end frame and a side frame. By fasteners, the side frame and the end frame are connected to the rectangular framework, respectively. In addition, the side frame and the end frame may be further mounted with another side frame and another end frame depending on the demand of the user so as to extend their lengths as desired.

A first object of the present invention is that the instrument placed in the rectangular framework can be expanded by mounting with the side frame and the end frame.

A second object of the present invention is that the bottoms of the side frame and the end frame are provided with foot structures for supporting the weights of the side frame and the end frame.

A third object of the present invention is that the installation of the side frame and the end frame is completed by the fasteners inserted through the through holes, the side frame through holes, the end frame through holes, providing a fast and easy way for installation.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, an extendable instrument cabinet of the present invention comprises a rectangular framework 10 and an extension frame assembly 20.

The rectangular framework 10 includes four support racks 101 erected at four corners thereof, an upper frame 102 connected to upper ends of the four support racks 101, and a lower frame 103 connected to lower ends of the four support racks 101 to form front and rear ends E and left and right sides S. Each of the upper frame 102, the lower frame 103 and the support racks 101 is formed with a plurality of through holes T.

The extension frame assembly 20 includes an end frame 21, at least two end frame through holes 211, a side frame 22, at least two side frame through holes 221, and a plurality of fasteners L. The side frame 22 corresponds in size to the left and right sides S of the rectangular framework 10. The end frame 21 corresponds in size to the front and rear ends E of the rectangular framework 10. The side frame through holes 221 are formed on the side frame 22. By the fasteners L inserted through the side frame through holes 221 and the through holes T of the relative support racks 101, the side frame 22 is connected to the relative support racks 101 at the left or right side S of the rectangular framework 10. The end frame through holes 211 are formed on the end frame 21. By the fasteners L inserted through the end frame through holes 211 and the through holes T of the relative support racks 101, the end frame 21 is connected to the relative support racks 101 at the front or rear end E of the rectangular framework 10, referring to FIG. 15 which is a rear view of the rectangular framework 10 to show the positions of the through holes T.

FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 show that the fastener L is used to connect the end frame 21 and the support rack 101. The fastener L is inserted through the end frame through holes 211 and the through hole T to be locked such that the end frame 21 is connected to the support rack 101.

FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 show the connection of the side frame 22 and the support rack 101 of the rectangular framework 10. The fastener L is inserted through the side frame through holes 221 and the through hole T to be locked.

Referring to FIG. 7 and FIG. 8, the end frame 21 has a bottom provided with a foot structure 3. The foot structure 3 includes a top end 31 and a fixing rod 32. The top end 31 is fixedly connected to one end of the fixing rod 32. Another end of the fixing rod 32 is inserted through the bottom of the end frame 21. The top end 31 of the foot structure 3 is against the ground for supporting the weight of the end frame 21. The bottom of the side frame 22 is also provided with the foot structure 3 which is identical to that shown in FIG. 7 and FIG. 8.

As shown in FIG. 9, the end frame 21 is connected to the support racks 101 at the front or rear end. E of the rectangular framework 10. Depending on the demand of the user, another end of the end frame 21 can be connected with another end frame 21 or more. The way to connect the two end frames 21 is to use the end frame through holes 211 of the end frames 21 and the fasteners L. The thickness of the end frame 21 can be adjusted as desired. As shown in FIG. 10, the end frames 21 are in different thicknesses X1, X2, X3, X4, X5. Referring to FIG. 9, the end frame 21 is further connected with an end plate EB.

As shown in FIG. 11, the side frame 22 is connected to the support racks 101 at the left or right side S of the rectangular framework 10. Depending on the demand of the user, another side of the side frame 22 can be connected with another side frame 22 or more. The way to connect the two side frames 22 is to use the side frame through holes 221 of the side frames 22 and the fasteners L. The thickness of the end frame 21 can be adjusted as desired. The side frame 22 is further connected with a side plate SB.

Referring to FIG. 12 and FIG. 13, the rectangular framework 10 can be only mounted with the end frame 21 or the side frame 22.

Referring to FIG. 14, the left and right sides S and the front and rear ends E of the rectangular framework 10 are mounted with the end frames 21 or the side frames 22.

Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
