1. Field of the Invention
The present invention is a plow. More specifically, the present invention is an extendable plow.
2. Description of the Related Art
Many plows have a fixed width that limits the use that the plow has. Often times a user will have to change a plow because the width of the plow is not suited from one job to another.
The extendable plow provides a plow that may be utilized to plow various widths of material. The extendable plow has one center section with an extension on each side of the center section. The extendable plow may also include a transitional cutting edge that is coupled below the center section that allows moved material to transition smoothly from one plowing surface to the other. The extendable plow may also include a pair of compression springs that may be utilized to agitate the material that is being moved by the extendable plow. The extendable plow reduces resistance and allows the extendable plow to move more material. The side extensions may be extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths to accommodate different sized work environments.
The present invention is a plow. More specifically, the present invention is an extendable plow.
The extendable plow includes a center section having a front facing, a back facing and a pair of sides, a mounting bracket coupled to the back facing of the center section, the mounting bracket includes an attachment plate and a first pair of cylinders, a plurality of side extensions extended from each of the pair of sides by a second pair of cylinders, the side extensions extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths and a transitional cutting edge disposed on a bottom edge of the center section, the transitional cutting edge allows moved material to transition from one plowing surface to another. The extendable plow may also include an extension guide disposed on a top edge of the front facing of the center section of the extendable plow and an extension arm disposed on each side of the extendable plow, the extension arm is adapted to be extended outward from the extension guide by the second pair of cylinders, the extension arm is guided by the extension guide as the extension arm is guided outward. The extendable plow may also include a first plowtop extension and a second plowtop extension, the first plowtop extension is disposed on top of each of the pair of side extensions extending from the center section and the second plowtop extension is disposed on top of the center section, the first plowtop extension and the second plowtop extension assist to direct pushed material forward as the pushed material is driven up the pair of side extensions and the center section and a pair of compression springs coupled to the back facing of the center section of the extendable plow, the pair of compression springs vibrate the extendable plow.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an extendable plow that provides a transitional cutting edge that allows moved material to transition smoothly from one plowing surface to the other.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an extendable plow that provides a center section with a side extension on each side of the center section that may be extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths to accommodate different sized work environments and move more material.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an extendable plow with a pair of compression springs that may be utilized to agitate the material that is being moved by the extendable plow.
The present invention will be described by way of exemplary embodiments, but not limitations, illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which like references denote similar elements, and in which:
Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. The phrase “in one embodiment” is used repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.
The extendable plow 100 may include a center section 110 and a mounting bracket 120. The center section 110 may have a front facing 110A and a back facing 110B. The mounting bracket 120 may be coupled to the back facing 110B of the center section 110. The mounting bracket 120 may include an attachment plate 122 and a first pair of cylinders 124. The attachment plate 122 may couple the mounting bracket 120 to a vehicle to push the extendable plow 100. The first pair of cylinders 124 may be a hydraulic cylinder, a hydraulic cylinder or other suitable type of cylinder. The vehicle may be a commercial truck, a pick-up truck, a tractor, a sport utility van or SUV, an automobile or other suitable vehicle. The mounting bracket 120 may include a pair of compression springs 126 to trip the extendable plow 100. The pair of compression springs 126 may be coupled to the back facing 110B of the center section 110 of the extendable plow 100. The front facing 100A of the extendable plow 100 may push any suitable material such as snow, ice, dirt or gravel.
The extendable plow 200 may include a center section 210, a plurality of side extensions 220 and a transitional cutting edge 230. The center section 210 may have a front facing 210A, a back facing 210B and a pair of sides 210C. The side extensions 220 may extend from each of the pair of sides 210C by a second pair of cylinders 224 to a plurality of predetermined lengths to accommodate different sized work environments and move more material.
