Claims
- 1. A cyclical process for separating sucrose from an aqueous solution of sucrose and at least one of the compounds comprising betaine and a mineral salt, each cycle of which process comprises:
- (a) contacting said mixture at adsorption conditions with a solid adsorbent exhibiting selectivity for said sucrose thereby selectively adsorbing said sucrose on said adsorbent;
- (b) recovering said sucrose from said adsorbent by desorption with a desorbent comprising alcohol; and thereafter
- (c) flushing said alcohol from said adsorbent with water.

This application is a division of my prior copending application Ser. No. 308,013 filed Oct. 2, 1981, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,426,232, issued Jan. 17, 1984 which is a continuation-in-part of my prior, copending application Ser. No. 246,349 filed Mar. 23, 1981, now abandoned.
