FIELD

Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to methods of applying eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes, and to an eyelash application kit for applying eyelashes to natural eyelashes.

BACKGROUND

Traditionally, when applying eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes, adhesive is applied to the lower surface of the eyelash extensions, and the lower surface of the eyelash extensions are then adhered to an upper surface of the natural eyelashes. Applying eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes requires tools (e.g., tweezers) to be simultaneously held in both hands of a cosmetologist. First tweezers in one hand of the cosmetologist are utilized to move adjacent eyelashes away from an eyelash on which an eyelash extension is to be applied, while second tweezers in the cosmetologist's other hand are utilized to apply the eyelash extension to the eyelash. In such traditional application techniques, a protective barrier is applied onto the skin of and/or the skin below the bottom eyelid of the person receiving the eyelash extensions, providing protection from impact with the tip of the first tweezers and from contact with adhesive on the eyelash extensions.

SUMMARY

The present disclosure provides for a method for a cosmetologist to apply eyelash extensions onto natural eyelashes of a person. The method may include visually identifying a target eyelash through a magnifying glass. The target eyelash may be a natural eyelash of the person having multiple rows of natural eyelashes. The method may include gripping an eyelash extension with an eyelash manipulation tool, and attaching a top surface of the eyelash extension onto a bottom surface of the target eyelash using the eyelash manipulation tool. The method may include repeating these steps to attach additional eyelash extensions to additional natural eyelashes of the person.

The present disclosure provides for a method for a cosmetologist to apply eyelash extensions onto natural eyelashes of a person that includes visually identifying a target eyelash through a magnifying glass. The target eyelash may be a natural eyelash of the person having multiple rows of natural eyelashes. The method includes isolating the target eyelash from adjacent natural eyelashes of the person using an eyelash isolation tool. The method may be characterized in that a single finger of the cosmetologist is used to operate the eyelash isolation tool to isolate the target eyelash from the adjacent natural eyelashes. The method may include gripping an eyelash extension with an eyelash manipulation tool. The method may include applying an adhesive to a top surface of the eyelash extension, and removing adhesive, if any, from a bottom surface of the eyelash extension. The method may include adhering the top surface of the eyelash extension onto a bottom surface of the target eyelash using the eyelash manipulation tool. The target eyelash may be maintained in isolation from the adjacent natural eyelashes while adhering the top surface of the eyelash extension onto the bottom surface of the target eyelash. The method may include repeating these steps to adhere additional eyelash extensions to additional natural eyelashes of the person. The method may be characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two eyelash manipulation tools and without applying a protective barrier onto the skin of the person's lower eyelid or onto the skin below the person's lower eyelid.

The present disclosure provides for an eyelash application kit. The eyelash application kit may include an eyelash isolation tool, a magnifying tool, an eyelash straightener and curler, or combinations thereof. The eyelash isolation tool may include a ring and a prong mechanically coupled with and extending from the ring. The magnifying tool may include a head fitting (e.g., a band) and a magnifying glass mechanically coupled with the head fitting. The eyelash straightener and curler may include a first handle mechanically coupled with a second handle at a first end of the eyelash straightener and curler, a first tine extending from the first handle, and a second tine extending from the second handle. Each tine may include an internal surface. A clamping space may be formed at second end of the eyelash straightener and curler between the internal surfaces of the tines. The internal surfaces of the tines may be heated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

A detailed description will now be provided. The following disclosure includes specific embodiments, versions and examples, but the disclosure is not limited to these embodiments, versions or examples, which are included to enable a person having ordinary skill in the art to make and use the disclosure when the information in this application is combined with available information and technology. In addition, the present disclosure may repeat reference numerals and/or letters in the various examples. This repetition is for the purpose of simplicity and clarity and does not in itself dictate a relationship between the various embodiments and/or configurations discussed.

Various terms as used herein are shown below. To the extent a term used in a claim is not defined below, it should be given the broadest definition persons in the pertinent art have given that term as reflected in printed publications and issued patents. Further, unless otherwise specified, all compounds described herein may be substituted or unsubstituted and the listing of compounds includes derivatives thereof.

Further, various ranges and/or numerical limitations may be expressly stated below. It should be recognized that unless stated otherwise, it is intended that endpoints are to be interchangeable. Where numerical ranges or limitations are expressly stated, such express ranges or limitations should be understood to include iterative ranges or limitations of like magnitude falling within the expressly stated ranges or limitations (e.g., from about 1 to about 10 includes, 2, 3, 4, etc.; greater than 0.10 includes 0.11, 0.12, 0.13, etc.).

Certain embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for a cosmetologist to apply eyelash extensions to a person. As used herein, a “cosmetologist” is any person applying eyelash extensions to themselves or to another person. In some embodiments, the cosmetologist is a different person than the person having the eyelash extensions applied. In other embodiments, the cosmetologist is the same person as the person having the eyelash extensions applied.

As used herein, “eyelash extensions” include, but are not limited to, eyelashes that are attached to existing natural eyelashes of the person. Eyelash extensions may be made of natural or synthetic fibers. For example and without limitation, eyelash extensions may be made of silk, mink, synthetic mink, synthetic hair, or natural human hair.

The eyelash extensions that may be used in the method include, but are not limited to, single-lash eyelash extensions 10a (i.e., an eyelash extensions having a single lash extension) as shown in FIG. 1A, double-lash eyelash extensions 10b and 10c as shown in FIGS. 1B and 1C, triple-lash eyelash extensions 10d and 10e as shown in FIGS. 1D and 1E, and combinations thereof. Double-lash eyelash extensions 10b and 10c have two lash extensions with a gap between the two lash extensions. As shown in FIGS. 1B and 1C, double-lash extensions 10b have a narrower gap between the two lash extensions than double-lash extensions 10c. Triple-lash eyelash extensions 10d and 10e have three lash extensions with gaps between the three lash extensions (i.e., two gaps). As shown in FIGS. 1D and 1E, triple-lash extensions 10d have narrower gaps between the three lash extensions than triple-lash extensions 10e. In some embodiments, the method include using eyelash extensions that are cluster lashes (not shown) or single lashes cut from an existing strip of lashes (not shown). As used herein “cluster lashes” refers to groups of multiple (e.g., 4 or 5) lashes glued to a group of lashes. Cluster lashes may exhibit a flared appearance.

With reference to FIG. 2, the method may include visually identifying target eyelash 12. Target eyelash 12 may be a natural eyelash of person 14 having multiple rows 16a-16d of natural eyelashes. For example and without limitation, person 14 may have from 1 to 5 rows of natural eyelashes, from 2 to 4 rows of natural eyelashes, or 3 or 4 rows of natural eyelashes. As shown in FIG. 2, person 14 has 4 rows of natural eyelashes. First row 16a of natural eyelashes is located on the upper eyelid of person 14 furthest away from eye 18 of person 14. Last row 16d of natural eyelashes is located on the upper eyelid closest to eye 18. Second row 16b and third row 16c of natural eyelashes are located on the upper eyelid between first row 16a and last row 16d. While the method is described herein as application of eyelash extensions to the upper eyelid, one skilled in the art would understand that the method may also be used to apply eyelash extensions to the lower eyelid.

For example and without limitation, cosmetologist may visually identify target eyelash 12 through magnifying glass 20 utilizing magnifying tool 22. Magnifying glass 20 may be mechanically coupled with head fitting 24 (e.g., band). In some embodiments, head fitting 24 may be worn about the cosmetologist's head. In such embodiments, the cosmetologist may position head fitting 24 and magnifying glass 20 such that magnifying glass 20 is located in front of one or both eyes of the cosmetologist. In some embodiments, magnifying tool 22 includes light source 26 mechanically coupled with magnifying glass 20, head fitting 24, or combinations thereof. Light source 26 may be powered, for example with a battery. Some embodiments include directing light from light source 26 onto the natural eyelashes of person 14 while visually identifying target eyelash 12 through magnifying glass 20.

With reference to FIGS. 4A and 4B, the method may include gripping single-lash eyelash extension 10a with an eyelash manipulation tool (not shown). While FIGS. 4A and 4B are described with reference to single-lash eyelash extension 10a, one skilled in the art would understand that the method may be performed using any eyelash extension known to those of ordinary skill in the art, such as those depicted in FIGS. 1A-1E. As used herein, “eyelash manipulation tool” is any tool suitable for gripping (e.g., pinching) and moving eyelash extension 10a. In some embodiments, eyelash manipulation tool is a tool operated with a single hand by the cosmetologist. In certain embodiments, eyelash manipulation tool may be a tool requiring at least two fingers to operate for gripping (e.g., pinching) eyelash extension 10a. For example and without limitation, eyelash manipulation tool may be tweezers. In such embodiments, tweezers may be used to grip (e.g., pinch) eyelash extension 10a (e.g., by utilizing the thumb and index finger to operate the tweezers).

Eyelash extension 10a may have top surface 28 and bottom surface 30. Top surface 28 may be generally concave, and bottom surface may be generally convex. Target eyelash 12 may have top surface 32 and bottom surface 34. Top surface 32 may be generally concave, and bottom surface 34 may be generally convex. After gripping eyelash extension 10a, the method may include attaching top surface 28 of eyelash extension 10a onto bottom surface 34 of target eyelash 12 using the eyelash manipulation tool, forming extended eyelash 13.

In certain embodiments, prior to attaching eyelash extension 10a to target eyelash 12, the method includes applying an adhesive to eyelash extension 10a. For example and without limitation, at least a portion of eyelash extension 10a may be dipped in adhesive. In such embodiments, attaching eyelash extension 10a to target eyelash 12 includes adhering top surface 28 of eyelash extension 10a to bottom surface 34 of target eyelash 12. Adhesive used to adhere top surface 28 of eyelash extension 10a to bottom surface 34 of target eyelash 12 may be any lash adhesive or lash glue known to those skilled in the art. For example and without limitation, adhesive used to adhere to top surface 28 of eyelash extension 10a to bottom surface 34 of target eyelash 12 may be a cyanoacrylate based adhesive, such as methyl-2 cyanoacrylate. In some embodiments, prior to adhering top surface 28 of eyelash extension 10a to bottom surface of target eyelash 12 and after applying the adhesive to eyelash extension 10a, the method includes removing adhesive, if any, from bottom surface 30 of eyelash extension 10a, such as by wiping adhesive off of bottom surface 30. Without being bound by theory, it is believed that removing adhesive from bottom surface 30 of eyelash extension 10a reduces contact between skin of lower eyelid of person 14 and the adhesive. In certain embodiments, the method includes cleaning the natural eyelashes of person 14 prior to applying eyelash extension 10a. In some embodiments, after cleaning the natural eyelashes and prior to applying eyelash extension 10a, the method includes allowing the natural eyelashes to dry, brushing the natural eyelashes, or combinations thereof.

With reference to FIGS. 5A-5D, in some embodiments the method includes isolating target eyelash 12 from adjacent natural eyelash 15 of person 14 using eyelash isolation tool 36. In certain embodiments, eyelash isolation tool 36 includes fitting, such as ring 38, which may be worn on a finger of the cosmetologist, and prong 40 mechanically coupled to ring 38 and extending outward from ring 38. Prong 40 may have a tip 41. In some embodiments, prong 40 has straight edges 43, as shown in FIG. 5A. In other embodiments, prong 40 has curved or arcuate edges 45, as shown in FIG. 5B. With reference to FIGS. 5C and 5D, in certain embodiments, isolating target eyelash 12 from adjacent natural eyelash 15 of person 14 using eyelash isolation tool 36 includes positioning a portion of prong 40, such as tip 41, between target eyelash 12 and adjacent natural eyelash 15, and applying force 47 with prong 40, or tip 41 thereof, onto adjacent natural eyelash 15 to displace adjacent natural eyelash 15 away from target eyelash 12. For example and without limitation, in operation ring 38 may be worn on the finger of the cosmetologist with prong 40 extending from ring 38 and past a tip of the cosmetologist's finger. With prong 40 extending past the tip of the cosmetologist's finger, the cosmetologist may utilize prong 40, or tip 41 thereof, to apply force 47 to the adjacent natural eyelash 15. The method may include maintaining target eyelash 12 in isolation (as shown in FIG. 5D) from adjacent natural eyelash 15 of person 14 while attaching top surface 28 of eyelash extension 10aonto bottom surface 34 of target eyelash 12. In certain embodiments, the method is characterized in that use of eyelash isolation tool 36 to isolate target eyelash 12 from adjacent eyelash 15 does not require a multi-finger grip. In certain embodiments, the method is characterized in that a single finger of the cosmetologist is used to operate eyelash isolation tool 36 to isolate target eyelash 12 from adjacent natural eyelash 15. Without being bound by theory, isolating target eyelash 12 from adjacent natural eyelash 15 utilizing eyelash isolation tool 36 operable with a single finger of the cosmetologist may allow the cosmetologist to attached eyelash extension 10a to target eyelash 12 in less time in comparison to isolating target eyelash 12 from adjacent natural eyelash 15 utilizing an eyelash manipulation tool that requires at least two fingers to operate (e.g., tweezers). While depicted as including ring 38 and prong 40, eyelash isolation tool 36 is not limited to including a ring and/or prong, and may be any tool allowing cosmetologist to isolate adjacent natural eyelash 15 from target eyelash 12. As would be understood by one skilled in the art, prong 40 is not limited to the shapes or configurations depicted in FIG. 5A and 5B.

In certain embodiments, the method is characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two eyelash manipulation tools. For example, the method may be characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two eyelash manipulation tools that require at least two fingers to operate. In certain embodiments, the method is characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two tweezers (e.g., one set of tweezers in each hand). In such embodiments, the cosmetologist may, when applying eyelash extension 10a to target eyelash 12, grip an eyelash manipulation tool (e.g., tweezers) in a first hand without gripping any tool (e.g., eyelash manipulation tool, such as tweezers) in a second hand. In such embodiments, while cosmetologist may have eyelash isolation tool 36 engaged onto a finger of second hand, eyelash isolation tool 36 does not, in such embodiments, require any gripping by the second hand, as eyelash isolation tool 36 may be pressure fit onto the finger of the second hand.

In some embodiments, eyelash extension 10a may be attached to target eyelash 12 without isolating target eyelash 12 from adjacent natural eyelash 15 of person 14.

In certain embodiments, the method is characterized in that the method is performed without applying a protective barrier (e.g., a bandage, tape, or pad) onto the skin of the lower eyelid of person 14 or onto the skin below the lower eyelid of person 14. Without being bound by theory, it is believed that by not utilizing a second eyelash manipulation tool (e.g., tweezers) in the second hand of the cosmetologist to isolate adjacent eyelash 15 from target eyelash 12, the chance of impact of an eyelash manipulation tool onto the skin of the lower eyelid of person 14 or onto the skin below the lower eyelid of person 14 is reduced.

With reference to FIGS. 6A-19C, the method may be implemented to apply eyelash extensions 10a-10g to natural eyelashes in various configurations. The exemplary arrangements of eyelash extensions 10a-10g depicted in FIGS. 6A-19C include single-lash eyelash extensions 10a, double-lash eyelash extensions 10b and 10c, triple-lash eyelash extensions 10d and 10e, cluster lashes 10f, and lashes cut from existing strips of lashes 10g.

In certain embodiments, a single type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to each single natural eyelash in at least one row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6A). In some embodiments, a single type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to each single natural eyelash in all rows 16a-16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6C).

In certain embodiments, eyelash extensions 10a-10g are attached to alternating natural eyelashes in at least one row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., row 16a in FIG. 8A). In some such embodiments, the natural eyelashes between the alternating natural eyelashes in the at least one row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d do not have eyelash extensions 10a-10g attached thereto (e.g., row 16a of FIG. 10A). In other such embodiments, a first type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to alternating natural eyelashes in at least one row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d, and a second, different type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to alternating natural eyelashes the same at one row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d (e.g., row 16a in FIG. 8A). In some embodiments, eyelash extensions 10a-10e are attached to alternating natural eyelashes in all rows 16a-16d of the natural eyelashes of person.

In some embodiments, eyelash extensions 10a-10g are attached to natural eyelashes in adjacent rows 16a-16d in a staggered arrangement. For example and without limitation, if eyelash extension 10b is attached to a natural eyelash in first row 16a, then eyelash extension 10a may be attached to a natural eyelash in second row 16b below eyelash extension 10b (e.g., FIG. 8B) or no eyelash extension may be attached to the natural eyelash in second row 16b below eyelash extension 10b (e.g., FIG. 10B).

In some embodiments, at least one type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to at least first row 16a and last row 16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6A). In certain embodiments, at least one type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to at least first row 16a, second row 16b, and last row 16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6B). In some embodiments, at least one type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached to at least first row 16a, second row 16b, third row 16c, and last row 16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6C).

In certain embodiments, the method includes varying the type of eyelash extensions 10a-10g attached within different rows 16a-16d of natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., rows 16a and 16d of FIG. 13A); varying the type of eyelash extensions 10a-10g attached within a single row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d of natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., row 16a of FIG. 8A); or combinations thereof (e.g., rows 16a and 16d of FIG. 8A). In some embodiments, the same type of eyelash extension 10a-10g is attached within each row 16a-16d of natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6C); or the same type of eyelash extensions 10a-10g is attached within at least one row 16a, 16b, 16c, or 16d of natural eyelashes of person 14 (e.g., FIG. 6A). For example and without limitation, eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes in first row 16a of the natural eyelashes of person 14 may be: single-lash eyelash extensions 10a, double-lash eyelash extensions, triple-lash eyelash extensions 10d, or combinations thereof; and eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes in last row 16d of the natural eyelashes of person 14 may be: double-lash eyelash extensions 10c, triple-lash eyelash extensions 10e, or combinations thereof.

With reference to FIGS. 20A and 20B, in certain embodiments, eyelash straightener and curler 100 may be used to straighten or curl natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g. Eyelash straightener and curler 100 may have two handles 112a and 112b mechanically coupled together at first end 120, and two tines 110a and 110b. Tine 110a may be mechanically coupled with handle 112a, and tine 110b may be mechanically coupled with handle 112b. In some embodiments tine 110a and handle 112a are a single-piece construction, and tine 110b and handle 112b are a single-piece construction. In some embodiments, tine 110a, tine 110b, handle 112a, and handle 112b are a single-piece construction. Opposite first end 120, eyelash straightener and curler 100 may have second end 140. Clamping space 130 may be formed at second end 140 between internal surfaces 113a and 113b of tines 110a and 110b. Eyelash straightener and curler 100 may be adapted such that tines 110a and 110b may be movable closer and further away from one another, such as along path 160. In some embodiments, tine 110a may be adapted to move into contact with tine 110b. For example and without limitation, handle 112a may connect with handle 112b at first end 120 via a pivot connection. In some embodiments, a biasing device (not shown), such as a spring, may be mechanically coupled between handles 112a and 112b and/or tines 110a and 110b. In operation, a cosmetologist may position eyelash straightener and curler 100 such that one or more natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g are located between tines 110a and 110b within clamping space 130. Cosmetologist may then close tines 110a and 110b about natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g, retaining natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g between internal surfaces 113a and 113b of tines 110a and 110b via pressure, and utilize straight or twisting motions to cause natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g to straighten or curl, respectively. In certain embodiments, eyelash straightener and curler 100 is heated, increasing the pliability of natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g for straightening or curling. Eyelash straightener and curler 100 may have heat applied to internal surfaces 113a and 113b, which may be composed of a thermally conductive material, causing internal surfaces 113a and 113b to increase in temperature and transfer heat to natural eyelashes (12 and 15) and/or eyelash extensions 10a-10g. For example and without limitation, eyelash straightener and curler 100 may be battery powered (not shown) or may have a plug 119 adapted for plugging into and electrically coupling with an electrical outlet (not shown). Plug 119 may provide electricity, through external wire 117a and internal wire 117b to heating element 115. For example and without limitation, plug 119 may be electrically coupled with external wire 117a, which may be electrically coupled with internal wire 117b, which may be electrically coupled with heating element 115, which may be thermally coupled with internal surfaces 113a and 113b. Heating element 115 may be any heating element known to those of ordinary skill in the art that is adapted to convert electrical energy into thermal energy, such as by increasing in temperature upon application of electricity thereto (e.g., via resistive or Joule heating). Heating element 115 may be contained within each of tines 110a and 110b. Heating element 115 may operate to increase a temperature of internal surfaces 113a and 113b. While depicted as having heating element 115, wires 117a and 117b, and plug 119, one skilled in the art would understand that eyelash straightener and curler 100 may include less thermo- and/or electrical parts, more thermo- and/or electrical parts, or different thermo- and/or electrical parts that are adapted to heat internal surfaces 113a and 113b.

One or more steps of the method may be repeated to apply (e.g., adhere) additional eyelash extensions 10a-10g to additional natural eyelashes of person 14.

Certain embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an eyelash application kit. With reference to FIG. 21, eyelash application kit 50 may include eyelash isolation tool 36a and/or 36b, magnifying tool 22, eyelash straightener and curler 100, or combinations thereof.

It is understood that the example is given by way of illustration and is not intended to limit the specification or the claims. All compositions percentages given in the examples are by weight.

The method may be implemented to apply eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes in various configurations. The following examples 1-42 illustrate certain non-limiting examples of eyelash extension configurations.

Example 1
Single Lash—Natural Look

Single-lash eyelash extensions 10a are attached to each natural eyelash in first row 16a of person 14 and to each natural eyelash in last row 16d of person 14. No eyelash extensions are attached to the natural eyelashes in second row 16b or third row 16c of person 14. An example of such an arrangement is depicted in FIG. 6A.

Single-lash eyelash extensions 10a are attached to each natural eyelash in first row 16a of person 14, to each natural eyelash in second row 16b of person 14, and to each natural eyelash in last row 16d of person 14. Claims

1. A method for a cosmetologist to apply eyelash extensions onto natural eyelashes of a person, the method comprising: a. visually identifying a target eyelash through a magnifying glass, wherein the target eyelash is a natural eyelash of the person having multiple rows of natural eyelashes;b. gripping an eyelash extension with an eyelash manipulation tool, and attaching a top surface of the eyelash extension onto a bottom surface of the target eyelash using the eyelash manipulation tool; andrepeating steps a and b to attach additional eyelash extensions to additional natural eyelashes of the person.
2. The method of claim 1, characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two eyelash manipulation tools.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein the eyelash manipulation tool comprises tweezers, characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two tweezers.
4. The method of claim 1, further comprising isolating the target eyelash from adjacent natural eyelashes of the person using an eyelash isolation tool, and maintaining the target eyelash in isolation from the adjacent natural eyelashes while attaching the top surface of the eyelash extension onto the bottom surface of the target eyelash, characterized in that a single finger of the cosmetologist is used to operate the eyelash isolation tool to isolate the target eyelash from the adjacent natural eyelashes.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein the eyelash isolation tool comprises a ring worn on the finger of the cosmetologist, and a prong mechanically coupled with and extending from the ring; and wherein isolating the target eyelash from adjacent natural eyelashes of the person using the eyelash isolation tool comprises applying a force with the prong onto at least one adjacent natural eyelash to displace the at least one adjacent natural eyelash away from the target eyelash.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein the eyelash extension is attached to the target eyelash without isolating the target eyelash from adjacent natural eyelashes.
7. The method of claim 1, wherein the magnifying glass is mechanically coupled with a head fitting, and wherein the head fitting is worn about the cosmetologist's head.
8. The method of claim 7, wherein a light source is mechanically coupled with the head fitting, the magnifying glass, or combinations thereof, and wherein the method further comprises directing light from the light source to the natural eyelashes of the person while visually identifying the target eyelash through the magnifying glass.
9. The method of claim 1, characterized in that the method is performed without applying a protective barrier onto the skin of the person's lower eyelid or onto the skin below the person's lower eyelid.
10. The method of claim 1, further comprising, prior to attaching the eyelash extension to the target eyelash, applying an adhesive to the eyelash extension, wherein attaching the eyelash extension to the target eyelash comprises adhering the eyelash extension to the target eyelash.
11. The method of claim 10, further comprising, prior to attaching the eyelash extension to the target eyelash and after applying the adhesive to the eyelash extension, removing the adhesive from a bottom surface of the eyelash extension.
12. The method of claim 1, further comprising cleaning the natural eyelashes prior to applying the eyelash extensions.
13. The method of claim 1, wherein each eyelash extension attached to the person's natural eyelashes is a type of eyelash extension selected from the group consisting of: single-lash eyelash extensions, double-lash eyelash extensions, triple-lash eyelash extensions, and combinations thereof.
14. The method of claim 13, further comprising varying the type of eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes in different rows of the person's natural eyelashes.
15. The method of claim 13, further comprising varying the type of eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes in a single row of the person's natural eyelashes.
16. The method of claim 1, wherein the eyelash extensions are attached to alternating natural eyelashes in at least one row of the person's natural eyelashes.
17. The method of claim 15, wherein the eyelash extensions attached to natural eyelashes in adjacent rows are attached in a staggered arrangement.
18. The method of claim 1, further comprising straightening, curling, or combinations thereof the eyelash extensions, the natural eyelashes, or combinations thereof using an eyelash straightener and curler, wherein the eyelash straightener and curler comprises; a first handle mechanically coupled with a second handle at a first end of the eyelash straightener and curler;a first tine extending from the first handle and a second tine extending from the second handle, wherein each tine comprises an internal surface; anda clamping space formed at second end of the eyelash straightener and curler between the internal surfaces of the tines, wherein the internal surfaces of the tines are heated.
19. A method for a cosmetologist to apply eyelash extensions onto natural eyelashes a person, the method comprising: a. visually identifying a target eyelash through a magnifying glass, wherein the target eyelash is a natural eyelash of the person having multiple rows of natural eyelashes;b. isolating the target eyelash from adjacent natural eyelashes of the person using an eyelash isolation tool, characterized in that a single finger of the cosmetologist is used to operate the eyelash isolation tool to isolate the target eyelash from the adjacent natural eyelashes;c. gripping an eyelash extension with an eyelash manipulation tool;d. applying an adhesive to a top surface of the eyelash extension, and removing adhesive, if any, from a bottom surface of the eyelash extension;e. adhering the top surface of the eyelash extension onto a bottom surface of the target eyelash using the eyelash manipulation tool, wherein the target eyelash is maintained in isolation from the adjacent natural eyelashes while adhering the top surface of the eyelash extension onto the bottom surface of the target eyelash; andrepeating steps a through e to adhere additional eyelash extensions to additional natural eyelashes of the person, characterized in that the method is performed without the cosmetologist simultaneously using two eyelash manipulation tools and without applying a protective barrier onto the skin of the person's lower eyelid or onto the skin below the person's lower eyelid.
