The invention is a sealing device for a bag type container comprising a flexible seal with a male and female portion which, unlike other sealing devices for bags that require heat treatment or glue to adhere to the inside of a bag, the current invention is a sealing device which does not require heat or glue to adhere to a bag, is external to the bag, in which the bag type container itself becomes part of the seal, is reusable, it can be moved up or down or placed anywhere to remove air as necessary, and it can be used on one type of a bag in one instant, removed, and be used on another type of bag. Furthermore, on current sealing devices the seal goes directly into a matching seal and nothing can come in-between the seal, or it would render the seal ineffective, whereas the current invention is not disturbed by a bag, and in fact the bag becomes part of the seal. The securely sealed bag type containers therewith provide a seal not only for freshness of food, but in every place a bag type container is used and for every possible use.
The present invention relates generally to serving not only the food industry for its many types of products, but it can be used anywhere a bag type container is used, as well as reinforcing current sealing devices.
Super Market racks are filled with many popular comfort foods for personal tastes, parties, and sports. Racks are filled with potato chips, popcorn, pretzels, etc., of every kind, and there are many types of cereal boxes which have bags, all of which do not have seals to keep them fresh once opened. People fold the bag and then put devices on them such as a hard-plastic clip with a spring mechanism onto the bag which not only fails to make an air tight seal but often breaks or pops off.
The same is true for products such as bread bags which are plastic. These come with wire wraps which often leave people not knowing which way to turn the wire to unwrap it. There are also small plastic u-shaped clips which require you to spin the bag before it is put on which often pops off, or snags the bag leaving small holes, leading people to simply tie a knot in the bag only to find it is not so easy to undo. And there are wax-type of paper bags which do not come with a seal of any type.
The current sealing device offers a solution for the sealing of a bag. Unlike other sealing devices which have the seal permanently attached on the inside of the bag with heat treatment or glue, the current invention is on the outside of the bag and is not permanently attached to the bag. It can be moved up or down to remove the air as necessary.
Further still, unlike other devices where nothing can come in-between the seal rendering it ineffective, the current invention uses the bag itself as part of the seal.
Moreover, the current invention provides the extra space needed for a bag to be inserted regardless if the bag is folded over on itself one or more times making it uneven and un-flat. By allowing extra space the seal will still work.
Additionally, if the seal is bent the extra space for the bag allows it to remain in the seal Without the bag being forced out.
These and other functions of the invention will become more apparent upon perusal of the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein:
