The disclosure relates to mask devices and more particularly pertains to a new mask device for releasing a pleasing odor and a chemical disinfectant. The device includes a face mask, a scent patch coupled to the face mask and an antibacterial patch coupled to the face mask. The scent patch releases a chemical scent and the antibacterial patch releases a chemical disinfectant.
The prior art relates to mask devices including a face mask that has an odor absorbing element. The prior art discloses a cosmetic mask package that includes a liquid storing device, a carrier and an outer pouch. The prior art discloses a bag that is foldable and which stores a fluid impregnated sheet. The prior art discloses an aromatherapy device that includes a mask that is infused with an essential oil. The prior art discloses a face mask that is infused with a chemical aroma.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a mask that is wearable on a user’s face to protect the user from inhaling airborne pathogens. A nose strip is integrated into the face mask and the nose strip is comprised of a bendable material to conform to contours of the user’s face when the mask is worn. A scent patch is coupled to the mask and the scent patch is infused with a chemical scent thereby enhancing an odor of the mask. An antibacterial patch is coupled to the mask and the antibacterial patch is infused with a chemical disinfectant. The antibacterial patch releases the chemical disinfectant into air being inhaled by the user when the mask is worn thereby reducing airborne pathogen exposure for the user.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A pair of ear straps 30 is provided and each of the ear straps 30 is coupled to the mask 12. Each of the ear straps 30 extends around a respective one of the user’s ears 32 when the mask 12 is worn. Each of the ear straps 30 has a first end 34 and a second end 36, and each of the first end 34 and the second end 36 of each of the ear straps 30 is coupled to a respective one of the first lateral side 20 and the second lateral side 22 of the perimeter edge 18 of the mask 12 such that each of the ear straps 30 forms a closed loop. Each of the ear straps 30 may be comprised of an elastic material thereby enhancing comfort for the user.
A scent patch 38 is coupled to the mask 12 and the scent patch 38 is infused with a chemical scent to release the chemical scent into air being inhaled by the user when the mask 12 is worn. In this way the scent patch 38 enhances an odor of the mask 12 when the mask 12 is worn. The scent patch 38 has a first surface 40, a first sidelong edge 42 and a second sidelong edge 44, and the first surface 40 is bonded to the front surface 16 of the mask 12. The scent patch 38 is centrally positioned between the first lateral side 20 and the second lateral side 22 of the perimeter edge 18. Furthermore, the scent patch 38 is positioned adjacent to the top side 24 of the perimeter edge 18 such that the scent patch 38 is aligned with the user’s nose 28 when the mask 12 is worn. The scent patch 38 is elongated between the first sidelong edge 42 and the second sidelong edge 44. The chemical scent may be lemon scent, an herbal scent such as mint, a floral scent or any other pleasing scent that might be appropriate to enhance the user’s experience.
An antibacterial patch 46 is provided and the antibacterial patch 46 is coupled to the mask 12. The antibacterial patch 46 is infused with a chemical disinfectant to release the chemical disinfectant into air being inhaled by the user when the mask 12 is worn. In this way the antibacterial patch 46 reduces airborne pathogen exposure for the user. The antibacterial patch 46 has a primary surface 48, a first lateral edge 50 and a second lateral edge 52, and the primary surface 48 is bonded to the front surface 16 of the mask 12. The antibacterial patch 46 is centrally positioned between the first lateral side 20 and the second lateral side 22 of the perimeter edge 18 of the mask 12. Additionally, the antibacterial patch 46 is positioned below the scent patch 38 such that the antibacterial patch 46 is configured to be aligned with the user’s mouth 54 when the mask 12 is worn. The antibacterial patch 46 is elongated between the first lateral edge 50 and the second lateral edge 52 to a length that is greater than the length of the scent patch 38.
A bag 56 is provided which contains the mask 12 and the bag 56 is comprised of a fluid impermeable material to protect the mask 12 from contamination. The bag 56 is sealed around the mask 12 for preserving sterility of the mask 12. Additionally, the bag 56 is torn open for removing the mask 12 from the bag 56. The mask 12 is positioned in the bag 56 during the manufacturing process such that the mask 12 is clean and sterile when the mask 12 is removed from the bag 56.
In use, the bag 56 is torn open to remove the mask 12 and the mask 12 is worn for protection against airborne pathogens during a pandemic, for example. The scent patch 38 releases the chemical scent while the user breathes through the mask 12. In this way the scent patch 38 enhances the experience of wearing the mask 12 by covering unpleasant odors that can result from wearing a mask 12 for an extended period of time. The antibacterial patch 46 releases the chemical disinfectant while the user breathes through the mask 12. In this way the antibacterial patch 46 reduces the amount of airborne pathogens that the user could potentially inhale. The mask 12 is discarded when the user is finished wearing the mask 12.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
