The present invention relates to a fan motor, and more particularly, to a fan motor that prevents moisture from entering a printed circuit board (which is simply referred to as ‘PCB’) disposed at the inside thereof and is configured to provide easy assembly.
In general, a fan motor is a device used to conduct the circulation or forced blast of a fluid. Especially, in case of the fan motor for a freezer like a refrigerator, moisture may enter the interior of the fan motor, thereby causing the electronic or mechanical parts mounted inside the fan motor to fail to work. Accordingly, it is very important to completely prevent moisture from entering inside of the fan motor.
So as to rotate a fan, further, a bearing is used to rotatably support a rotary shaft of the fan motor against a bracket, and in this case, it is very difficult to perform the assembly work of the bearing to the bracket, which lowers the productivity thereof.
To solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, thus, the inventors propose to a fan motor that has a space formed inside upper and lower brackets in such a manner as to mount a PCB cover thereinto and further performs easy bearing assembly, thereby improving the productivity in the entire assembly work thereof.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a fan motor that has a structure in which the assembly work capability can be improved.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a fan motor that is capable of effectively protecting a printed circuit board from moisture.
The above object and other objects of the present invention will be easily achieved by a preferred embodiment of the present invention as will be described below.
To accomplish the above objects, according to the present invention, there is provided a fan motor including: a lower bracket having a lower protruding portion disposed at the center thereof and a space portion formed around the lower protruding portion, the lower protruding portion having a lower bearing insertion portion formed at the inside thereof; an upper bracket having an upper protruding portion disposed at the center thereof, the upper protruding portion having an upper bearing insertion portion formed at the inside thereof; a rotor disposed between the lower protruding portion and the upper protruding portion in such a manner as to be rotated together with a shaft; a stator core adapted to be surrounded with a lower insulator disposed on the top of the lower protruding portion and with an upper insulator disposed on the underside of the upper protruded portion; and a PCB cover adapted to be coupled under the lower insulator in such a manner as to be disposed into the space portion of the lower bracket and having a PCB insertion space portion formed at the inside thereof.
According to the present invention, desirably, the lower bearing insertion portion and the upper bearing insertion portion have a lower bearing and an upper bearing forcedly pressed and fitted thereinto.
According to the present invention, desirably, the lower bearing has lower felt coupled to the lower periphery thereof, and the upper bearing has upper felt coupled to the upper periphery thereof.
According to the present invention, desirably, the fan motor further includes a fan adapted to be coupled to the protruding portion of the shaft upwardly from the center portion of the upper bracket, the fan having a shaft insertion protrusion formed protrudedly from the center portion thereof, the shaft insertion protrusion having a shaft insertion portion, and at least one or more gaps formed on the shaft insertion protrusion in a direction of the shaft.
According to the present invention, preferably, the fan motor further includes a PCB adapted to be inserted into the PCB insertion space portion and a sealing portion formed by means of resin molding after the insertion of the PCB.
According to the present invention, there is provided the fan motor that has a structure in which the assembly work capability can be improved and that effectively protects the PCB from moisture.
Hereinafter, an explanation on a fan motor according to the present invention will be in detail given with reference to the attached drawings.
As shown in
The lower bracket 1 and the upper bracket 2 serve to accommodate the rotor 4 and the stator core 5 at the inside thereof, thereby isolating them from the outside. Also, the shaft 3 is located at the centers of the lower bracket 1 and the upper bracket 2. According to the present invention, the lower bracket 1 has a lower protruding portion 11 disposed at the center thereof in such a manner as to be protruded upwardly, and the lower protruding portion 11 has a lower bearing insertion portion 12 formed at the inside thereof so as to insert a lower bearing 31 thereinto. The lower bearing insertion portion 12 has at least one or more steps formed thereon, into which the lower bearing 31 is pressed and fitted. Desirably, a lower felt 33 is disposed along a portion of the outer periphery of the lower bearing 31 so as to supply oil to the lower bearing 31. In this case, the steps on the lower bearing insertion portion 12 should be formed in consideration of the insertion of the lower felt 33. On the other hand, if it is necessary to manufacture a box-shaped fan motor, the lower bracket 1 is injected together with a box frame 13 at the time of making the lower bracket 1.
In the same manner as the lower bracket 1, the upper bracket 2 has an upper protruding portion 21 disposed at the center thereof, and the upper protruding portion 21 has an upper bearing insertion portion 22 formed at the inside thereof so as to insert an upper bearing 32 thereinto. The upper bearing insertion portion 22 has at least one or more steps formed thereon, into which the upper bearing 32 is forcedly pressed and fitted. Desirably, an upper felt 34 is disposed along a portion of the outer periphery of the upper bearing 32 so as to supply oil to the upper bearing 32. In this case, the steps on the upper bearing insertion portion 22 should be formed in consideration of the insertion of the upper felt 34. Like this, the lower bearing insertion portion 12 and the upper bearing insertion portion 22 are formed on the lower bracket 1 and the upper bracket 2, thereby easily performing the insertion of the bearings. According to the present invention, the lower bracket 1 has a space portion 15 between the lower protruding portion 11 formed at the center thereof and the outer peripheral wall thereof. The space portion 15 has the PCB cover 6 disposed thereinto so as to protect a PCB, thereby effectively utilizing the internal structure of the fan motor and easily performing the assembly work thereof.
According to the present invention, the shaft 3 is rotatably supported against the lower bearing 31 and the upper bearing 32. Further, the shaft 3 is protruded upwardly from the upper bracket 2 in such a manner as to be passed through the upper bracket 2, and the protruding portion of the shaft 3 is coupled to the fan 7.
The rotor 4 has a plurality of magnets (not shown) mounted at the inside thereof and is disposed between the lower bearing 31 and the upper bearing 32, while being rotated together with the shaft 3. The rotor 4 is disposed inside the stator core 5.
The stator core 5 is coupled to a lower insulator 51 and an upper insulator 52 on the top and underside thereof. The lower insulator 51 is disposed on the top of the lower protruding portion 11 of the lower bracket 1, and the upper insulator 52 is disposed on the underside of the upper protruding portion 21 of the upper bracket 2. The stator core 5 has a plurality of teeth (not shown) protruded inwardly from the center thereof, and the plurality of teeth has coils (not shown) wound therearound in the state of being coupled to the lower insulator 51 and the upper insulator 52.
The lower insulator 51 is coupled in such a manner as to allow the PCB cover 6 to be located into the space portion 15 of the lower bracket 1. The detailed configuration of the PCB cover 6 and the coupling configuration of the PCB cover 6 to the lower insulator 51 will be explained with reference to
As shown in
On the other hand, the coupling method of the PCB cover 6 to the lower insulator 51 is not limited specially, but may be carried out by means of an adhesive or other coupling means. As shown in
