It is well known in the field to provide apparatus for hanging belts an the like. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 5,642,817 issued to O'Brien is conventional arrangement. Also, U.S. Pat. No. 7,322,554 issued to Caroselli, et al. for hanging scarves is an example providing a particular apparatus for hanging accessories without compression.
An object of the invention is to provide a system with a variety of hangers for fashion accessories.
Another object of the invention is to provide a system having specialized hangers to hang fashion accessories without wrinkling.
Yet another object is to provide a system that collectively holds fashion accessories in one location.
In addition to the several objects and advantages of the present invention which have been described with some degree of specificity above, various other objects and advantages of the invention will become more readily apparent to those persons who are skilled in the relevant art, particularly, when such description is taken in conjunction with the attached drawing Figures and with the appended claims.
The present invention is a system of a variety of hangers for fashion accessories. The hangers have four varieties. The types of hangers are a group of open circle, open triangle, modified circle and flattened circle hangers. The open circle, open triangle and modified circle are circular in cross section. The flattened circle hanger has a circular top portion and a bottom portion with generally parallel front and rear surfaces and is rectangular in cross section. The flattened circle hanger includes a plurality of apertures for the user to hang clip or pierced ear rings. The user can select any of the types of hangers or several of each of the types of hangers. The hangers can be placed and removed from a rod without disturbing the fashion accessories.
Prior to proceeding to the more detailed description of the present invention, it should be noted that, for the sake of clarity and understanding, identical components which have identical functions have been identified with identical reference numerals throughout the several views illustrated in the drawing figures. The system of the instant invention includes at least one and preferably four types of fashion accessory hangers.
The open portion 14 is in a predetermined position. In the preferred embodiment such predetermined position is about ⅓ of the distance between the top portion and the bottom portion.
The open portion 14 has a spacing of between 0.10-1.0 inches. The presently preferred spacing is about 0.125 inches.
The open portion 14 has opposing ends. In the presently preferred embodiment the end shapes are hemispheric. However the end shape can be flat. Essentially, the open portion 14 defines a split in otherwise continuous shape of the each accessory hanger 10, 16, 18 and 19.
The open circle hanger 10 is adapted to hang scarves 20. The open triangle 16 is adapted to hold ties 22. The modified circle 18 is adapted to hold belts 24. The flattened circle 19 is adapted to hold jewelry, bracelets and earrings 25. The flattened circle 19 includes pluralities of apertures 26 formed in a spaced apart relationship with each other through a thickness of the flattened bottom portion and sized to receive the prongs of the earrings 25 used with pierced ears. The generally rectangular cross-section of the flattened bottom portion is provided so as to facilitate attachment of the clip-on style earrings 25. The generally rectangular cross-section of the flattened bottom may have rounded edges, thus defining a generally oval cross-section.
The system allows the user to select from group of the open circle 10, open triangle 16, modified circle 18 and flattened circle 19. The user can select one hanger or a plurality of hangers. The plurality of hangers can include one of any of the type of hangers and at least one other type of hangers. The plurality can be from one type or a mixture of hangers.
The fashion accessory hanging system in one embodiment includes only the fashion accessory hangers. Another embodiment has a support rod 12 to place the hangers. The support rod 12 could be defined by (is part of) a conventional hanger used to hang clothing. The circular section 15 of the modified circle 18 and flattened circle 19 is sized so as to receive the peripheral surface of the rod 12 therewithin. In use, the modified circle 18 and flattened circle 19 are suspended from the rod 12 by way of circular section 15.
Additionally, at least one c-shaped ring 30 is preferably sized to fit over rod 12 so as to provide a stop preventing the hangers from sliding when the rod 12 is tilted in the vertical plane or limiting other lateral movement on the rod 12 or other supporting surface. The c-shaped ring 30 may be also placed between a pair of hangers 10, 16, 18 and 19 so as to define a preselected spacing therebetween. The c-shaped ring 30 is manufactured preferably of an elastomeric material such as plastic or rubber, and has an inner surface thereof sized so as to securely engage the peripheral surface portion of the rod 12 yet allow for ease of removal from the rod 12. Furthermore, the material and/or shape of the c-shaped ring 30 define friction sufficient to prevent movement of the c-shaped ring 30 on the hanger 12. The instant invention contemplates that at least one c-shaped ring 30 may be attached directly to at least one of the plurality of hangers 10, 16, 18 and 19 so as to provide spacing between the fashion accessories hung from such hanger. The instant invention also contemplates that an inner edge surface of the modified circle 18 and/or flattened circle 19 may be optionally provided with raised portions (not shown) so as to facilitate arrangement of necklaces.
Additionally, the hangers 10, 16, 18 and 19 can be hung on a hook, nail, stud, peg, door knob or other suitable parts or surface (not shown).
It would be understood, that although
Although the present invention has been shown in terms of use with fashion accessory items, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art, that the present invention may be used for hanging other items, for example such as medals with ribbons, key chains, badges with lanyards and the like.
While in accordance with the patent statutes the presently preferred and various alternative embodiments of the instant invention have been described in detail above, it should be understood that various other modifications and alternatives can be envisioned by those persons skilled in the art without departing from either the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
This patent application is related to and claims priority from U.S. 61/484,282 Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. filed May 10, 2011.
