1. Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to a device for fastening cables.
2. Description of Related Art
Many electronic devices may be connected by several cables to other devices. These cables produce electromagnetic radiation. To test the condition of electro-magnetic interference (EMI) of the electronic devices, the cables are generally positioned at locations where the radiation of the cables is at the highest level. The cables are generally fastened by tapes or cable ties. However, the tapes or ties will not firmly accurately fasten the cables where desired.
Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, all the views are schematic, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
The fastener 20 includes a rectangular base body 21 and a long belt 22 extending forward from a front side of a top of the base body 21. A through slot 23 is defined in the base body 21, extending through the front and rear side surfaces of the base body 21. An engaging portion 24 slantingly extends downward and forward from a rear side of a top wall 232 bounding the through slot 23. A plurality of latching slots 241 is defined in a bottom surface of the engaging portion 24, arranged in a fore-and-aft direction. A front side surface 242 bounding each latching slot 241 is slanting forward and down. A rear side surface 243 bounding each latching slot 241 is substantially perpendicular to the top wall 232. Two substantially rectangular through holes 25 are respectively defined in left and right sides of the base body 21. Two pivot holes 252 are respectively defined in front and rear sidewalls 251 bounding each through hole 25. A plurality of suction cups 26 is attached to a bottom of the base body 21. A recess 27 is longitudinally defined in a top surface of the belt 22. The width of the recess 27 is the same as the width of the engaging portion 24. A plurality of latches 28 extends up from a bottom wall 271 of the recess 27, arranged in a row along the lengthwise direction of the belt 22. Each latch 28 is substantially wedge-shaped. A slanting guiding surface 281 is formed on a front side of each latch 28.
Each pivot member 30 includes a pivot tab 31 and two pins 32 respectively extending from opposite sides of the pivot tab 31.
Referring to
When the belt 22 is slid along the engaging portion 24, a lower portion of the engaging portion 24 is received in the recess 27. Parts of the latches 28 engage with the corresponding latching slots 241 guided by the guiding surfaces 281, and disengage from the latching slots 241 guided by the front side surfaces 242. If the belt 22 is pulled back along the engaging portion 24, the latches 28 are blocked by the rear side surfaces 243, which means the belt 22 cannot be slid back along the engaging portion 24. Therefore, the belt 22 will not loosen after the cables 50 are bundled tight.
To release the cables 50, the pivot members 30 are rotated, to allow the pivot tabs 31 to drive the engaging portion 24 to move up. The latches 28 disengage from the latching slots 241. The belt 22 can be slid back in the through slot 23.
Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the embodiments have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and the functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in details, especially in the matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the embodiments to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
