Claims
- 1. A fatty alkoxylate ester consisting of a diester of an aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid, formed by reacting said acid with a stoichiometric excess of one or more polyalkoxylated fatty alcohols, the fatty moieties of which contain from 14 to 22 carbon atoms.
- 2. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 1, in which said ester consists of a diester of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid containing from 2 to 22 carbon atoms.
- 3. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 2, wherein said aliphatic dicarboxylic acid is selected from the group consisting of malonic, succinic and maleic acids.
- 4. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 1, wherein said ester consists of a diester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid containing from 8 to 22 carbon atoms.
- 5. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 4, wherein said aromatic dicarboxylic acid is phthalic acid.
- 6. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 1, wherein said polyalkoxylated fatty alcohol is selected from the group consisting of polyethoxylated fatty alcohols, polypropoxylated fatty alcohols and fatty alcohols that are both polyethoxylated and polypropoxylated.
- 7. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 6, wherein said polyalkoxylated fatty alcohol has the structural formula: ##STR4## wherein R.sub.2 is a saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted, aliphatic or aromatic fatty moiety containing from 14 to 22 carbon atoms; x and y are independently zero or integers from 1 to 100, inclusive, and the sum of x and y is between 1 and 200, inclusive.
- 8. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 7, wherein R.sub.2 comprises the 14 carbon atom myristyl fatty moiety.
- 9. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 7, wherein the sum of x and y of said polyalkoxylated fatty alcohol is between 1 and 100, inclusive.
- 10. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 9, wherein the sum of x and y of said polyalkoxylated fatty alcohol is between one and twenty.
- 11. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 7, wherein x is zero and y is integer from 1 to 100, inclusive.
- 12. The fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 11, wherein y is an integer from one to ten, inclusive.
- 13. A bath oil composition consisting essentially of:
- (a) a fatty alkoxylate ester emollient agent consisting of a diester of an aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid formed by reacting said acid with a stoichiometric excess of one or more polyalkoxylated fatty alcohols having fatty moieties with 14 to 22 carbon atoms; and
- (b) up to about 75 percent by weight of mineral oil.
- 14. A bath oil composition consisting essentially of the fatty alkoxylate ester of claim 1.
