Claims
- 1. A process for fluidized catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon feed stream to obtain light olefins, the process comprising contacting said hydrocarbon feed stream with a catalyst having a composition including at least 1.0 wt-% of a zeolite having no greater than medium average pore size and said catalyst including at least 0.1 wt-% coke, said contacting occurring in a single reactor for no more than 2 seconds at a hydrocarbon partial pressure of no more than 172 kPa (25 psia).
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein said single reactor is a riser.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst is at a temperature of about 621° to 677° C. (1150° to 1250° F.) before contacting the feed stream.
- 4. The process of claim 1 further comprising regenerating only a portion of said catalyst.
- 5. The process of claim 1 further comprising recovering a vapor product from said single reactor comprising at least 20 wt-% propylene.
- 6. The process of claim 1 further comprising recovering a vapor product from said single reactor comprising less than or equal to 4 wt-% dry gas.
- 7. The process of claim 1 wherein said contacting yields at least 60 wt-% conversion.
- 8. The process of claim 1 wherein the ratio of catalyst to feed in the reactor is greater than or equal to 10.
- 9. A process for fluidized catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon feed stream to obtain light olefins, the process comprising:
contacting said hydrocarbon feed stream with a mixture of coked and regenerated catalyst having a composition including at least 1.0 wt-% of a zeolite having no greater than medium average pore size, said contacting occurring in a single reactor for no more than 2 seconds at a hydrocarbon partial pressure of no more than 172 kPa (25 psia) to obtain coked catalyst; separating hydrocarbon products from said coked catalyst; regenerating a portion of said coked catalyst to obtain regenerated catalyst; passing said regenerated catalyst back to said reactor; and passing another portion of said coked catalyst back to said reactor.
- 10. The process of claim 9 wherein said single reactor is a riser.
- 11. The process of claim 9 wherein said catalyst is at a temperature of about 621° to 677° C. (1150° to 1250° F.) before contacting the feed stream.
- 12. The process of claim 9 further comprising recovering a vapor product from said single reactor comprising at least 20 wt-% propylene.
- 13. The process of claim 9 further comprising recovering a vapor product from said single reactor comprising less than or equal to 4 wt-% dry gas.
- 14. The process of claim 9 wherein said contacting yields at least 60 wt-% conversion.
- 15. A process for fluidized catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon feed stream to obtain light olefins, the process comprising contacting said hydrocarbon feed stream with a catalyst having a composition including at least 1.0 wt-% of a zeolite having no greater than medium average pore size and said catalyst including at least 0.1 wt-% coke, said contacting occurring in a single reactor for no more than 2 seconds at a hydrocarbon partial pressure of no more than 172 kPa (25 psia) and a ratio of catalyst to feed in the reactor of greater than or equal to 10.
- 16. The process of claim 15 wherein said catalyst is at a temperature of about 621° to 677° C. (1150° to 1250° F.) before contacting the feed stream.
- 17. The process of claim 15 further comprising regenerating only a portion of said catalyst.
- 18. The process of claim 15 further comprising recovering a vapor product from said single reactor comprising at least 20 wt-% propylene.
- 19. The process of claim 15 further comprising recovering a vapor product from said single reactor comprising less than or equal to 4 wt-% dry gas.
- 20. The process of claim 15 wherein said contacting yields at least 60 wt-% conversion.
