The invention is a product that stops ground foilage growth of grass, weeds, and trees in a fence line. It's made of a polyethylene plastic which is 0.045 inches thick. This plastic material is rigid but pliable and conforming. The invention assembles to a fence by sliding the fence post through holes provided on the invention. The invention will be a dark color such as green stopping sunlight from reaching the ground. The fact that the invention is a rigid plastic and lays against the ground and dark in color will prevent growth of ground foilage such as grass, weeds and trees in a fenceline. The invention is made of a polyethylene plastic film which is readily available in the plastic world market. This plastic comes in round coil form in widths of four and five feet. The invention will be cut from these large master coils by a machine called a slitter. The slitter is able to cut any size width a person desires from these master coils, also to any length. After the invention is cut from these coils holes and radiouses will be cut on the invention by a machine called a rotary milling machine.
This machine is computer programmable to do this operation. All of the construction will be done with the rotary milling machine after the invention is cut from these master coils. After the rotary milling machine has cut the holes and radiouses on the invention the process of construction will be complete.
Field of Endeavor to which the invention pertains.
The field of endeavor to which this invention pertains is the field of fence building in agriculture, residential, and commercial fence. Also, the field of property appearance and property maintaintance products.
The general idea for the invention came from I, myself, the inventor noticing the problem of ground foilage such as grass, trees, and weeds growing in fence lines. With the invention, this problem can be solved by stopping sunlight from reaching the ground and by covering up a 12 inch wide path of ground directly underneath the fence with a rigid plastic. The invention will lay directly against the ground and run in line with the fence. The invention being made of a 0.045 inch thick material by 12 inch wide by 8 feet 6 inches long polyethylene plastic and being dark in color will accomplish the goal set forth to stop growth of ground foilage in a fence line. An advantage in the invention after it is installed properly is it will allow a person to use a lawnmower to get the growth of foilage next to a fence because the invention will stick out 6 inches each side of the fence and lay flat on the ground. No weed-eating. This will save a person a great deal of time with their lawn and property care and upkeep.
The invention is made from a polyethylene plastic film which is readily available in the plastic world market in round coil form. The invention will be manufactured from polyethylene plastic that is 0.045 inches thick and 12 inches wide by approximately 8 feet, 6 inches long. The invention will be cut from a large master coil of this plastic by a plastic film cutting machine called a slitter. The slitter is capable of cutting plastic to any desired width and any desired length. The plastic master coils come in widths of 4 to 5 feet wide. Once the invention is cut from the master coil it will be ready to install the holes where the fence post will slide through. This process will be done with a rotary milling maching which is computer programmable to cut the desired shape hole in the invention the person desires. This rotary milling machine is readily available in the machinging tool world market. Once the holes are cut out for the fence post in the invention, radiuses will be cut on the edges of each end of the invention. All of the construction process will be done with the rotary mill machine.
At this point the construction of the invention will be complete.
Using and installing the invention. A person who is going to build a new fence must start out with a clean fence line meaning no ground foilage taller than one quarter of an inch in the potential fence line. This will allow the invention to kill the foilage that lies beneath the invention. After this is done, you're ready to build the fence. Your first step will be to install the fence post. A person will be able to use the invention as a template for spacing out the fence posts at equal 8 foot 0 inch spacing with the holes provided in the invention for the fence post. After fence posts are installed you slide the fence post through the holes provided on the invention sliding the invention all the way against the ground where it will remain. Now you are ready to install the fence. After fence is installed the installation of the invention will be complete.
