Claims
- 1. A housing assembly for enclosing and storing cable splices comprising:
a housing member having a closed end and an open end and defining a storage chamber therebetween; and, an end plate selectively received in the open end, said end plate including a substantially planar end plate body defining a plurality of cable entrance openings adapted to selectively receive associated cables therethrough and into said storage chamber, and a plurality of cable caps circumferentially spaced apart over an outer peripheral edge of the end plate body and adjacent said plurality of cable entrance openings, the plurality of cable caps being selectively removable to permit said associated cables to be individually selectively moved radially through said end plate body into and out of selected ones of said plurality of cable entrance openings.
- 2. The housing assembly of claim 1, wherein said end plate is substantially circular and includes at least four said cable caps.
- 3. The housing assembly of claim 1, wherein each said cable cap has a bottom surface including a soft sealing material for mating with a portion of a perimeter of said end plate body.
- 4. The housing assembly of claim 3, wherein said cable caps each include at least one fastener for fastening said cable caps to said end plate body.
- 5. The housing assembly of claim 1, further including an air valve through said end plate body, said valve in communication with the interior of said housing member for pressurization of the housing assembly.
- 6. The housing assembly of claim 1, wherein said end plate body includes a plurality of inner openings therethrough, each said inner opening adapted to receive a selectively piercable grommet therethrough.
- 7. The housing assembly of claim 6, wherein said grommet includes a piercable tip adapted to receive a ground wire therethrough.
- 8. A housing assembly for enclosing and storing cable splices comprising:
a housing member having a closed end and an open end and defining a storage chamber therebetween; an end plate received in the open end, said end plate including an end plate body having a plurality of inner openings therethrough; and, a resilient piercable grommet selectively received in each said inner opening.
- 9. The housing assembly of claim 8, wherein said end plate further includes a plurality of selectively removable cable caps for accessing individual cables passing through said end plate.
- 10. The housing assembly of claim 9, further including an air valve through said end plate body, said valve in communication with the interior of said housing member for pressurization of the housing assembly.
- 11. The housing assembly of claim 9, wherein said end plate includes at least four said cable caps.
- 12. The housing assembly of claim 11, wherein each said cable cap has a bottom surface including a soft sealing material for mating with a portion of a perimeter of said end plate body.
- 13. A housing assembly for enclosing and storing cable splices comprising:
a housing member having a closed end and an open end and defining a storage chamber therebetween; an end plate received in said open end, said end plate including a plurality of cable entry outer openings adapted to receive cables therethrough; and, at least one selectively removable sealing wall positioned in each of said plurality of cable entry outer openings, the removable sealing walls sealing said openings and being selectively removable to open selected ones of said openings.
- 14. A housing assembly for enclosing and storing cable splices comprising:
a housing member having a closed end and an open end and defining a storage chamber therebetween; an end plate received in said open end, said end plate including a plurality of cable entry outer openings having selectively removable sealing walls; said cable entry outer openings being adapted to receive cables therethrough; and, each said cable entry outer opening being adapted to receive a grommet therethrough.
- 15. The housing assembly of claim 14, wherein said grommet includes a substantially cylindrical hub having a series of spaced apart cable openings extending axially therethrough.
- 16. The housing assembly of claim 15, wherein said cable openings are cut out of a perimeter of said grommet.
- 17. The housing assembly of claim 15, wherein said grommet includes a perimeter having a low durometer tape therearound;
said end plate includes an end plate body and selectively removable cable caps; and, said grommet sealingly engaged between said end plate body and said cable caps.
- 18. A housing assembly for enclosing and storing cable splices comprising:
a housing member having an open end and a removable end plate selectively received in the open end for defining a storage chamber therein; said end plate including an end plate body and a plurality of selectively removable cable caps for accessing individual cables passing through said end plate; and, a collar releasably and sealingly engaged around said open end of said housing for securing said end plate within said housing.
- 19. The housing assembly of claim 18, wherein said collar comprises a split configuration having two sections hingedly connected at a pivot point.
- 20. The housing assembly of claim 19, wherein said collar includes an inside perimeter having an asymmetrical U-channel.
- 21. The housing assembly of claim 20, wherein said U-channel includes a first leg and a second leg, said first leg is shorter than said second leg.
- 22. The housing assembly of claim 19, wherein said collar includes two ends, said ends comprise a female portion and a male portion for latching said collar around said open end of said housing.
- 23. The housing assembly of claim 18, further including an air valve through said end plate body, said valve in communication with the interior of said housing member for pressurization of the housing assembly.
- 24. The housing assembly of claim 18, wherein said end plate includes at least four said cable caps.
- 25. The housing assembly of claim 18, wherein each said cable cap has a bottom surface, said bottom surface includes a soft sealing material for mating with a portion of a perimeter of said end plate body.
- 26. The housing assembly of claim 25, wherein said cable caps each include at least one fastener for fastening said cable caps to said end plate body.
- 27. A cable splice enclosure assembly comprising:
a cable splice enclosure; an elongate rigid support bar extending axially within said cable splice enclosure; a pair of support rods extending in parallel from said support bar at spaced locations; a pair of side walls extending in parallel from said support bar at spaced locations, said side walls including a series of opposing openings therethrough for selectively positioning a series of fiber storage straps therebetween; and, a plurality of stacked trays supported thereunder by said series of fiber storage straps thereby defining an adjustable cable storage area between said series of fiber storage straps and said support bar.
- 28. The cable splice enclosure assembly of claim 27, further including an organizer bar having a pair of sleeves extending in parallel from said organizer bar at spaced locations;
said plurality of stacked trays adapted to extend between and engage said sleeves; and, said sleeves are adapted to receive said support rods.
- 29. The cable splice enclosure assembly of claim 28, wherein said sleeves each include a plurality of opposing restraint clips, said restraint clips adapted to allow pivoting of said plurality of spaced trays for access thereto.
- 30. The cable splice enclosure assembly of claim 27, further including an end plate having an end plate body and a plurality of selectively removable cable caps for accessing individual cables passing through said end plate.
- 31. A cable splice enclosure assembly comprising:
a rigid elongated support bar; a front support rod and a rear support rod extending in parallel from said support bar at spaced locations; said support bar including a mounting post extending therefrom; a pair of brackets mounted between said support rods; a plurality of stacked trays adapted to extend between and engage said support rods, said plurality of stacked trays supported thereunder by said brackets thereby defining a cable storage area between said brackets and said support bar; and, said mounting post being adapted to engage a retaining clip extending transverse to an end plate, said end plate having an end plate body and a plurality of selectively removable cable caps for accessing individual cables passing through said end plate.
