Claims
- 1. A sealing device for use with a filling valve for filling of cans with pressurized fluid, said device comprising:
- a flexible member responsive to the entry of the pressurized fluid into the cans such that said flexible member moves to a sealed position with respect to the cans wherein said flexible member comprises:
- (a) a first ring in sealable engagement with the filling valve;
- (b) a second ring depending from said first ring and spaced from the filling valve thereby forming a chamber between the filling valve and said flexible member; and
- (c) a third ring depending from said second ring having at least one notch therein through which the pressurized fluid may enter said chamber such that said flexible member will expand into sealed engagement with the cans when the pressurized fluid is dispensed into the cans.
- 2. A sealing device for use in combination with a filling valve for counterpressure filling cans with pressurized fluid, said filling valve adapted to be moved from a closed position to a substantially open position whereby the cans are filled with counterpressure gas, said device comprising a ring-shaped gasket having a first portion in sealing engagement with said filling valve and a second portion spaced from said filling valve thereby defining an open ended chamber between said gasket and said filling valve, said ring shaped gasket actuated by entry of pressurized fluid into said chamber such that said gasket moves radially outwardly to a sealed position with respect to said cans substantially when the filling valve moves to its open position.
- 3. The sealing device of claim 2 wherein said gasket moves radially outward to a sealed position with respect to said cans.
