Claims
- 1. A camera for use with a film cartridge of the type including a state indicator which is set at different indications to distinguish between an unused state and a used state of the film cartridge, the camera comprising;
- a film cartridge accommodating portion for removably accommodating a film cartridge therein, the film cartridge accommodating portion being movable into and out of a main body of the camera,
- an ejector, the ejector ejecting a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion,
- a detector, the detector detecting whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is used or unused based on an indication of the state indicator, the detector detecting whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is used or unused prior to movement of the film cartridge accommodating portion into the main body, and
- an ejector lock, the ejector lock locking the ejector when a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is detected to be unused by the detector, and not locking the ejector as a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is detected to be used by the detector.
- 2. A camera as claimed in claim 1, wherein the ejector lock unlocks the ejector upon closing of a lid of the film cartridge accommodating portion.
- 3. A camera as claimed in claim 1, wherein a displaceable portion of the detector contacts tile state indicator when a film cartridge is accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion, the detector detecting whether the film cartridge is used or unused through a displacement of the portion upon contact with the state indicator.
- 4. A camera for use with a film cartridge of the type which includes a state indicator which is set at different indications to distinguish between an unused state and a used state of the film cartridge, the camera comprising:
- a film cartridge accommodating portion for removably accommodating a film cartridge therein, the film cartridge accommodating portion being movable into and out of a main body of the camera,
- a detector, the detector detecting whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is used or unused based on an indication of the state indicator, the detector detecting whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is used or unused prior to movement of the film cartridge accommodating portion into the main body,
- an ejector, the ejector ejecting a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion out from the film cartridge accommodating portion, and
- a controller, responsive to the detector, the controller controlling the ejector to eject a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion as the detector detects that the film cartridge is in a used state.
- 5. A camera according to claim 4, wherein the controller further controls the ejector to prevent ejection of a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion when the state indicator indicates that the film cartridge is in an unused state.
- 6. A camera according to claim 5, further comprising a lid for opening and closing the film cartridge accommodating portion, wherein the controller further controls the ejector, when the film cartridge accommodating portion accommodates a film cartridge therein, to eject the film cartridge upon opening of the lid.
- 7. A camera as claimed in claim 4, wherein a displaceable portion of the detector contacts the state indicator when a film cartridge is accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion, the detector detecting whether the film cartridge is used or unused through a displacement of the portion upon contact with the state indicator.
- 8. A camera comprising;
- a film cartridge accommodating portion for removably accommodating a film cartridge therein, the film cartridge accommodating portion being movable into and out of a main body of the camera,
- a detector, the detector detecting whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is an unused film cartridge or a used film cartridge, the detector detecting whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is used or unused prior to movement of the film cartridge accommodation portion into the main body,
- an ejector, the ejector being adapted to eject a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion out from the film cartridge accommodating portion, and
- a controller, responsive to the detector, the controller controlling the ejector to eject a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion as the detector detects that a used film cartridge is accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion.
- 9. A camera as claimed in claim 4, wherein a film cartridge for use with the camera includes a state indicator for indicating one of a used or an unused state of the film cartridge, and a displaceable portion of the detector contacts the state indicator when the film cartridge is accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion, the detector detecting whether the film cartridge is used or unused through a displacement of the portion upon contact with the state indicator.
- 10. An apparatus comprising:
- a film cartridge accommodating portion for removably accommodating a film cartridge therein, the film cartridge accommodating portion being movable into and out of a main body of the apparatus,
- a detector, the detector detecting, prior to movement of the film cartridge accommodating portion into the main body, whether a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion is a usable film cartridge or an unusable film cartridge in the apparatus,
- an ejector, the ejector ejecting a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion out from the film cartridge accommodating portion, and
- a controller, responsive to the detector, the controller controlling the ejector to eject a film cartridge accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion as the detector detects that an unusable film cartridge is accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion.
- 11. An apparatus as claimed in claim 10, wherein a film cartridge for use with the camera includes a state indicator for indicating one of a used or an unused state of the film cartridge, and a displaceable portion of the detector contacts the state indicator when the film cartridge is accommodated in the film cartridge accommodating portion, the detector detecting whether the film cartridge is used or unused through a displacement of the portion upon contact with the state indicator.
