Field of Invention
The present invention relates to a fire containment device used to contain an outdoor fire.
Description of Related Art
One of many aspects of outdoor camping involves building of fires. Outdoor fires essentially are necessary for cooking, providing heat and keeping insects or animals away from the campsite. Further the outdoor fire creates a pleasant atmosphere while camping. One drawback to outdoor fires relates to smoke emission that's usually associated with the outdoor fire. These smoke emissions can be harmful and also sensitive to the campers. As a result, it would be advantageous to have a device that could minimize or eliminate smoke output while engaging in an outdoor campout.
The present invention relates to a smoke ring assembly that includes: an inner ring, where the inner ring is a cylindrical tube having a first diameter; an outer ring, where the outer ring is a cylindrical tube having a second diameter, where the first diameter is less than the second diameter and the inner ring is vertically aligned into the outer ring during use; a series of holes at the top perimeter of the inner ring; a throttle ring, where the throttle ring supports the outer and inner ring; a series of throttle holes around the perimeter of the throttle ring; and a removable handle for use with the throttle ring, where the removable handle inserts into the one of the throttle holes. The smoke ring assembly may further include handles on the inner ring to allow for removal of the inner ring from the outer ring. The inner ring preferably includes an outer lip that over laps the outer ring.
The present invention relates to a smoke ring assembly that includes an inner and outer ring that contains an outdoor fire. Further, the ring design helps to minimize or eliminate smoke emissions from the fire through the use of the inner ring, outer ring and strategically positioned holes within the rings.
In reference to
A user may easily use this ring assembly 100 to build an outdoor fire and eliminate or minimize smoke output. Preferably the ring assembly is about 24 inches tall with the inner ring 30 being about 30 inches in diameter and placed within the outer ring 40. The base or throttle ring 50 enables the user to adjust the intensity of fire by controlling the throw of air through the ring assembly 100. As a result of this device the evenly spaced holes enables to the fire to burn the wood and to minimize smoke output through the circulation of the smoke back into the fire. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
