Firearm marksmanship competitions that involve multiple targets at varying distances require external ballistics data for each target. Access to ballistic data under time constraint is optimized when the data is displayed to the competitor with minimal disturbance to body position during target engagements.
The applicant's invention is a novel apparatus for displaying ballistics data comprised of:
The applicant's invention is a novel apparatus of manufacture for displaying ballistics data. The apparatus mounts to a cylindrical portion of a firearm mounted optic. The apparatus is comprised of a U-Clamp 1, a Card Holder 2, and a Ballistics Data Display Card 3. In a preferred embodiment, the U-Clamp 1 is a solid polymer. U-Clamp 1 attaches to a firearm mounted optic by passing Guide Slot 8 over a cylindrical portion of the optic until the cylindrical portion is enclosed by Internal Diameter 9. U-Clamp 1 adheres to the cylindrical portion of the optic by elastic force generated when Internal Diameter 9 is less than the external diameter the cylindrical portion of the optic and the width of Guide Slot 8 is less than Internal Diameter 9. Card Holder 2 adheres to U-Clamp 1 by Magnet or Ferromagnetic Material 4 and Restraining Slot 6. U-Clamp 1 adheres to Card Holder 2 by Magnet or Ferromagnetic Material 4. Ballistics Data Display Card 3 attaches to Card Holder 2 by Retaining Screw 5 and Restraining Slot 7.
