Claims
- 1. A fireplace door construction for a firebox comprising:
- (a) a fireplace door; and
- (b) a door frame rigidly secured to said fireplace, said door frame comprising:
- a flange portion for receipt of a flange,
- a door portion against which the fireplace door can close; the door portion of the frame being further from the firebox than the flange portion, and
- isolating means connecting said flange portion to said door portion and thermally isolating the door portion from the flange portion, to thereby prevent the heat of the fire from warping the door portion.
- 2. A fireplace door construction as in claim 1, wherein the isolating means comprises a neck portion between the flange portion and door portion, and wherein the neck portion is narrower than both the flange portion and the door portion, to substantially reduce the amount of heat conducted therebetween.
- 3. A fireplace door construction as in claim 1, wherein means are provided to air tightly seal the door against the door portion when closed.
- 4. A fireplace door construction as in claim 1, wherein the flange is substantially air tightly sealed against the flange portion, and where the flange is substantially air tightly sealed against the fireplace.
- 5. A fireplace door construction as in claim 2, wherein the flange portion, neck and door portion are all part of a unitary, extruded structure.
- 6. A fireplace door construction as in claim 1, in combination with a heat recovery device which outputs heated air, wherein the door has a glass pane therein with an inside and an outside surface, and means are provided to cause the heated output air to flow directly over the outside surface of the glass pane.
