Claims
- 1. A method for warming a fishing rod handle, the method comprising:
providing at least one heat pack for providing heat; forming a retaining mechanism adapted to receive at least one heat pack for providing heat, the retaining mechanism having a first edge opposed to a second edge; retaining at least one heat pack to the retaining mechanism; wrapping the retaining mechanism around a substantial portion of the fishing rod handle; and securing the retaining mechanism to the fishing rod handle.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the securing of the retaining mechanism to the fishing rod handle comprises attaching a hook and loop type fastener to the first edge and the second edge.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the retaining mechanism comprises a pouch.
- 4. The method of claim 3 further comprising placing a heat pack within the pouch.
- 5. A method for warming a fisherman's hand when the hand is wrapped around a fishing rod handle, the method comprising:
providing a warming apparatus, wherein the warming apparatus includes a pouch adapted to removably receive a heat pack; securing the heat pack to the retaining mechanism; and securing the warming apparatus to the fishing rod handle.
- 6. The method of claim 5 further comprising activating the heat pack.
- 7. A warming apparatus for wrapping a heat pack around a fishing rod handle, the apparatus comprising:
a first edge opposed to a second edge; a retaining mechanism located between the first edge and the second edge, the retaining mechanism adapted to removably receive the heat pack; and attachment means for connecting the first edge with the second edge, wherein the warming apparatus is adapted to secure the heat pack substantially around the fishing rod handle when the first edge is connected with the second edge.
- 8. The warming apparatus of claim 7, wherein the first edge or the second edge have a length substantially equal to a length of the fishing rod handle.
- 9. The warming apparatus of claim 7, wherein the at least one heat pack generates heat through a chemical reaction.
- 10. The warming apparatus of claim 7, wherein the attachment means comprises a device selected from the group consisting of a hook and loop type fastener, a magnet, a snap-fit member, and an elastic band.
- 11. The warming apparatus of claim 7, wherein the retaining mechanism comprises at least one pouch for receiving the at least one heat pack.
- 12. The warming apparatus of claim 7, wherein the retaining mechanism comprises a first sheet connected to a second sheet, the first sheet and the second sheet having at least four edges, wherein the first sheet and the second sheet define a pouch through a connection of the first sheet with the second sheet.
- 13. A warming apparatus for wrapping around a fishing rod handle, the apparatus comprising:
at least a plurality of retaining mechanisms having a first edge opposed to a second edge, the retaining mechanisms each adapted to removably receive at least one heat pack, wherein the heat pack is secured to the retaining mechanism; and attachment means for connecting the first edge with the second edge, wherein the retaining mechanisms are adapted to fold substantially around a fishing rod handle, and wherein the attachment means secure the retaining mechanisms to the fishing rod handle when the first edge is connected with the second edge.
