DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new simulation device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the fishing simulation assembly 10 generally comprises a plurality of decoys 12 that is each positionable on a support surface 14. The support surface 14 may be the ground, a floor of a room or other similar horizontal support surface 14. Each of the decoys 12 has a tail portion 16 extending away from a body portion 18 such that each of the decoys 12 approximates the appearance of a fish. Each of the decoys 12 has a top surface 20 and a bottom surface 22, and the body portion 18 is elongated such that the body portion 18 has an ovoid shape. The top surface 20 has indicia 24 printed thereon and the indicia 24 comprise an image of a fish for enhancing the ornamental appearance of the decoys 12. As is most clearly shown in FIG. 4, each of the top surface 20 and the bottom surface 22 may be convexly arcuate for simulating the body shape of a fish.

A plurality of weights 26 is provided and each of the weights 26 is integrated into a respective one of the decoys 12 to simulate the weight of a fish. Each of the weights 26 may comprise a dense material such as steel that has a weight ranging between approximately 0.5 pounds and 1.0 pounds. A plurality of magnets 28 is each coupled to a respective one of the decoys 12. Each of the magnets 28 is recessed into the top surface 20 of the respective decoy 12 such that the magnets 28 have an exposed surface 30. Additionally, each of the magnets 28 is positioned adjacent to a head 32 of the body portion 18 of the respective decoy 12.

A fishing pole 34 is provided that is carried by a user and a fishing reel 36 is coupled to the fishing pole 34. The fishing reel 36 has fishing line 38 wrapped therearound and a lure 40 is coupled to the fishing line 38 thereby facilitating the lure 40 to be cast from the fishing pole 34. The lure 40 has an ovoid profile to approximate the appearance of a baitfish. The fishing pole 34 may include eyelets, a handle and other structural elements common to conventional fishing poles. The fishing reel 36 may be a fishing reel of any conventional design and the fishing line 38 may be monofilament line or other type of fishing line.

A magnet 42 is provided that is coupled to the lure 40. The magnet 42 on the lure 40 magnetically engages the magnet 28 on a respective one of the decoys 12 when the lure 40 is cast onto the respective decoy 12. In this way the lure 40 and the decoys 12 simulate catching a fish. The magnet 42 on the lure 40 may have a polarity that is opposite the polarity of the magnets 28 that are coupled to the decoys 12. Additionally, the magnet 42 on the lure 40 may comprise a ferromagnetic material, such as iron or steel, which is magnetically attracted to the magnets 28 on the decoys 12.

In use, the fishing pole 34 is carried by the user, likely a child that is participating in a fishing rodeo activity. The lure 40 is cast out onto the support surface 14 in the attempt to land the lure 40 on one of the decoys 12. In this way the magnet 42 on the lure 40 engages the magnet 28 on a respective decoy 12 to simulate catching a fish. Thus, the user can enjoy the thrill of catching a fish without the need to be near a body of water as is required with traditional fishing.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
