The invention relates in general to health and fitness activities, more specifically to a fitness card system suited for on-the-go type fitness.
There is a plethora of fitness programming, activities, and exercises that have been developed that allow persons to obtain or maintain a desired fitness level. However, the activities and programming do not provide an energetic, on-the-go, quality form of exercise.
Accordingly, there is a need for a system and method for managing fitness activities on-the-go while traveling.
The present disclosure generally provides a system and method for managing a workout session utilizing a deck of cards. In a version of the application, the fitness card system for managing a workout session generally comprises: a deck of cards having at least four independent suits, each independent suit having a plurality of cards, each card designated by a card denomination D1 . . . Dn. Further, a first card group is represented by a first range of the card denominations, each of the cards within the first card group set generally includes a first plurality of muscle groups shown thereon; an exercise movement correlating with each of the plurality of muscle groups displayed thereon; and a repetition of each of the exercise movements displayed thereon, wherein each card having a similar card denomination among the suits display identical exercise movements thereon. Moreover, a second card group is represented by a second range of card denominations, the second card group set generally includes a second plurality of muscle groups displayed thereon; and an exercise movement correlating with each of the plurality of muscle groups displayed thereon, wherein each of the card denominations represent the number of repetitions for each of the exercise movements displayed thereon, and wherein each card within the plurality of cards belonging to a suit displays identical exercise movements thereon.
In a version, the card denominations D1 . . . Dn consist of A (1), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack (11), Queen (12), and King (13) for each of the four suits.
In certain versions of the application, the fitness card game system first card group first range is D1 . . . D3 consisting of A (1), 2, and 3 and wherein the second card group second range is D4 . . . D13 consisting of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack (11), Queen (12), and King (13).
In a version of the application, the fitness card game system muscle groups include Chest, Legs, Back, Arms, and Shoulders, each muscle group providing a plurality of correlating exercise movements.
In a version, a method for managing a workout session utilizing the fitness card game system is provided, the method generally comprises: the deck of cards is shuffled; participant(s) elect a muscle group from the plurality of muscle groups (Chest, Legs, Back, Arms, and Shoulders); participant sequentially select cards from the deck until physically exhausted or there are no remaining cards to select from. For each card selected: if the selected card is from the first card group, participant performs the number of repetitions of the exercise movement displayed on card associated with the elected muscle group; or if selected card is from the second card group, participant performs the number of repetitions dictated by the card denominations of the exercise movement displayed on the card associated with the elected muscle group.

Systems and methods according to embodiments of the present disclosure may provide a physical or electronically displayed deck of cards for managing a physical workout session. Generally, the deck of cards is configured to randomly present exercise movements and associated reps based on a preselected body muscle group.

Reiterated, first, the deck of cards 10 is initially shuffled prior to starting the session. Thereafter, participants elect what muscle group 20 they will be working on for the day or period. As illustrated, in
Once the muscle group 20 is elected, the participants will select and flip a first card to reveal the exercise movement 16 and repitions 18. In accordance with the formats described above, if the first card selected is in the first card group 12, the exercise movement 16 will be dictated by the denomination Dn on the card. The number of repetitions 18 for that specific exercise movement 16 will also be listed in association with the exercise movement 16 directly on the card. In other terms, if the selected card is from the first card group 12, the participant performs the number of repetitions 18 of the exercise movement 16 displayed on card associated with the elected muscle group 20. Once the movement on the first card is completed by the participant, a second card will be selected and flipped over. If the card is from the first card group 12, the format of the movement will be displayed according to the aforementioned; however, if the card is from the second card group 14, the card movement will be dictated by the suit S of the card and the number of repitions 18 will be dictated by the card denomination Dn. Thereafter, the process of selecting, flipping, and performing the exercise movement 16 is repeated until the participant is exhausted or the preselected amount of cards is exhausted.
