BACKGROUND

Quality sleep is an integral and often overlooked aspect of ensuring that one begins their day on a productive and positive note. The quality of sleep doesn't merely depend on the number of hours spent in bed, but more so on the uninterrupted and comfortable rest that rejuvenates both the body and the mind. One common issue that can greatly undermine the benefits of a good night's sleep is the tangling and bunching of bed sheets. Not only is this a matter of discomfort, but it can also lead to immense distress and frustration as one constantly struggles to readjust one's bedding throughout the night.

This disruption caused by tangled and bunched-up sheets often stems from movements during restless sleep. The fabric might twist around limbs or gather in clusters, making it difficult for a person to maintain a comfortable sleeping position. More importantly, this isn't just an inconvenience; it can also be a serious safety hazard. For families with small children, the displacement of sheets during sleep poses a very real threat. Children, especially infants, lack the strength and awareness to adjust or free themselves from the confines of twisted or bunched-up sheets. This puts them at risk of suffocation or other harm if they get entangled.

Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a device that inhibits the unwanted bunching and tangling of bed sheets during sleep. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a fitted sheet device with an attachable bed sheet that can be applied to a mattress of any size or shape, to appeal to users of any age, especially children. Furthermore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a fitted sheet device with an attachable top sheet that may fixedly or removably attach to at least one edge, so that the user may maximize their preferred experience for either a full range of motion or complete encapsulation.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a fitted sheet device with an attachable top sheet. The device is comprised of a fitted sheet, a top sheet, and a dual fastening mechanism. Each sheet is preferably made from cotton, or any other such soft textile material commonly used to produce comfortable bedding. At least one edge of both sheets may be secured to one another via a dual fastening mechanism that features a fastener on both sheets, that when put together, engage each other to form a continuous connection. The fasteners enable a secure method to comfortably inhibit the unwanted bunching and tangling of bed sheets during use, and according to user preference, may be engaged or disengaged during use.

In this manner, the fitted sheet device with an attachable top sheet of the present invention accomplishes all the foregoing objectives and provides a device that inhibits the unwanted tangling and bunching of bed sheets during sleep. More specifically, the fitted sheet device with an attachable top sheet can be applied to any mattress of any size to maximize the opportunity for users of all ages, especially children. Lastly, the device can fixedly or removably attach to itself to be formed to the desired user experience, either allowing for a complete disengagement of fasteners for a full range of motion or complete engagement of fasteners for full encapsulation and any and all embodiments in between.
