Claims
- 1. A closed cell polyurethane foam indexed at between 200 to 350 blown with a blowing agent comprising a liquid aliphatic hydrocarbon having five to seven carbon atoms, said foam having a Butler Chimney weight retention of 80 percent or greater at indices ranging from 200 to 300, inclusive, and a Butler Chimney weight retention of 85 percent or more at indices ranging from greater than 300 to 350, comprising in the closed cells:
- a) a non-halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon having from five to seven carbon atoms; and
- b) a secondary or tertiary halogenated hydrocarbon having three to six carbon atoms, its decomposition product, or mixtures thereof;
- the foam further containing phosphorus atoms covalently bonded through one or more carbon and/or oxygen atoms to a urethane group.
- 2. The polyurethane foam of claim 1, comprising in the closed cells:
- a) cyclopentane, pentane, or mixtures thereof;
- b) 2-chloropropane, its decomposition product, or mixtures thereof;
- the foam comprising the reaction product of an isocyanate with a polyol comprising a polyester polyol and an organo-phosphorus polyol.
