Claims
- 1. An insulation assembly comprising:a) an elongated batt of fibrous insulation material having two opposed major surfaces and two opposed minor surfaces, the batt having a first polymeric film facing secured on its first major surface, the first facing extending beyond the side edges of the batt, and the batt having a second polymeric film facing secured on its second major surface, the second facing extending along the opposed minor surfaces to meet the first polymeric film facing to form a first set of flanges adjacent the first major surface suitable for attaching the insulation assembly to a building structure; and b) a second set of flanges continuously formed of a bonded two part fold of the second polymeric film facing and located adjacent the second major surface.
- 2. The insulation assembly of claim 1 in which the first facing is a vapor barrier.
- 3. The insulation assembly of claim 1 in which the sides of the batt are faced with an encapsulation material.
- 4. The insulation assembly of claim 1 wherein the flanges are continuously formed of the first and second polymeric film facing bonded together.
- 5. An insulation assembly comprising:a) an elongated batt of fibrous insulation material having two opposed major surfaces and two opposed minor surfaces, the batt having a polymeric film facing secured on its first major surface, the facing extending beyond around the first minor surface, the second major surface and the second minor surface to meet the polymeric film and form a first set of flanges adjacent the first major surface suitable for attaching the insulation assembly to a building structure; and b) a second set of flanges formed from the polymeric film facing and located adjacent the second major surface.
- 6. The insulation assembly of claim 5 in which the polymeric film facing is a vapor barrier.
- 7. The insulation assembly of claim 5 wherein the flanges are continuously formed of a bonded two part fold of the polymeric film facing.
- 8. The insulation assembly of claim 5 wherein the second set of flanges are continuously formed of a bonded two part fold of the second polymeric film facing.
