Claims
- 1. A flat bread warmer comprising:
a housing; a pair of opposing rollers rotatably mounted in said housing; and heating elements mounted in said housing for heating at least one or the opposing rollers, said opposing rollers being spring biased toward each other to pinch a flat bread in between for simultaneously heating the flat bread and moving the flat bread through at least a portion of said housing.
- 2. The flat bread warmer of claim 1 wherein each roller has an associated heating element and further comprising a reflector associated with each heating element to direct heat from the heating element to its associated roller.
- 3. The flat bread warmer of claim 2 further comprising a scraping plate associated with each roller, each said scraping plate being mounted in said housing and having a portion contacting the circumference of its associated roller to scrape away any matter which may adhere to the roller.
- 4. The flat bread warmer of claim 3 wherein each heating element is disposed in said housing below its associated roller, and each scraping plate is disposed in said housing below its associated roller and has a sufficient width and is positioned inside of its associated heating element to shield the heating element from scraped matter falling from the rollers.
- 5. The flat bread warmer of claim 1 further comprising at least one set of lower heating elements spaced from each other to allow passage of the flat bread therebetween, said lower heating elements being positioned in said housing below said rollers to heat the flat bread after it passes through the rollers.
- 6. The flat bread warmer of claim 5 further comprising a reflector associated with each lower heating element to direct heat from the lower heating element inwardly toward the flat bread passing therebetween.
- 7. The flat bread warmer of claim 6 further comprising a shield member associated with said each lower heating element, said shield member being positioned inwardly in said housing from its associated lower heating element.
- 8. The flat bread warmer of claim 7 wherein each said shield member is generally channel shaped including an upper flange and a web portion, said upper flange being directed outwardly over a top of its associated lower heating element, said web portion being perforated to permit heat to flow through the shield member.
- 9. The flat bread warmer of claim 5 wherein said housing includes an upper portion and a lower portion, said upper portion enclosing said rollers, said heating elements for said rollers and said lower heating elements, said upper portion being open into said lower portion, and said lower portion having at least one side with an opening therein, said housing further including a lid on the top of its upper portion having an opening therein for the passage of the flat bread therethrough.
- 10. The flat bread warmer of claim 5 further including a motor mounted to said housing and connected to said rollers for rotating said rollers, and wherein said heating elements for said rollers and said lower heating elements are resistance heaters.
- 11. A flat bread warmer comprising:
a housing; a pair of generally parallel opposed rollers mounted in said housing for rotation about a horizontal axis in opposite directions, said rollers being spring biased toward each other to pinch a flat bread therebetween and move the flat bread through at least a portion of said housing; a heating element associated with each roller and mounted in said housing in proximity to its associated roller for heating its associated roller; at least one set of spaced lower heating elements mounted in said housing below said rollers for heating said flat bread after it passes through said rollers; and a motor mounted to said housing and connected to said rollers for rotating said rollers.
- 12. The flat bread warmer of claim 11 wherein each said heating element is positioned in said housing below and offset outwardly from the vertical centerline of its associated roller.
- 13. The flat bread warmer of claim 12 further including a reflector associated with each said heating elements, each said upper reflector being positioned within said housing on the outside of its associated heating element to direct heat from the heating element to its associated roller, and a lower reflector associated with each of said lower heating elements, each said lower reflector being positioned within said housing on the outside of its associated lower heating element to direct heat from the associated lower heating element inwardly toward the flat bread passing therebetween.
- 14. The flat bread warmer of claim 13 further comprising a scraping plate associated with each roller, each said scraping plate being mounted in said housing and having a portion contacting the circumference of its associated roller to scrape away matter adhering to the roller.
- 15. The flat bread warmer of claim 14 wherein each scraping plate extends below its associated roller and has a portion positioned inside from an associated heating element to shield the associated heating element from scraped matter falling from the rollers.
- 16. The flat bread warmer of claim 15 further comprising a shield member associated with each of said lower heating elements, said shield member being positioned inwardly in said housing from its associated lower heating element to shield said associated lower heating element from scraped matter falling from the rollers.
- 17. The flat bread warmer of claim 16 wherein said shield member is generally channel shaped including an upper flange and a web portion, said upper flange being directed outwardly over the top of the associated lower heating element, said web portion being perforated to permit heat to flow through the shield member.
- 18. The flat bread warmer of claim 11, wherein the heating element associated with at least one of the opposed rollers is located within the at least one roller.
- 19. A method of warming flat bread comprising:
providing a pair of opposed counter-rotating rollers; heating each of said rollers by a proximate heating element; and pinching said flat bread between said heated rollers and substantially simultaneously heating said flat bread and moving said flat bread through said rollers.
- 20. A flat bread warmer comprising:
a housing; a pair of opposing heating rollers rotatably mounted in the housing for contacting and heating a flat bread introduced between the opposing heating rollers; and heating elements mounted in the housing for heating the opposing heating rollers, wherein at least one of the heating elements is located inside a corresponding one of the opposing heating rollers.
