Claims
- 1. A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of a foodstuff or chewing gum comprising the step of intimately admixing with said foodstuff or chewing gum from about 0.1 ppm up to about 100 ppm of a schiff base reaction product produced according to the process of reacting an alkyl anthranilate having the structure: ##STR113## wherein R" represent methyl or ethyl with a carbonyl-containing compound having the structure: ##STR114## wherein R' represents hydrogen or methyl and R is: ##STR115##
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein in the alkyl anthranilate, R" is methyl.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein the carbonyl-containing compound is the compound having the structure: ##STR116##
- 4. The process of claim 2 wherein the carbonyl-containing compound is the compound have the structure:
- 5. A foodstuff or chewing gum having intimately admixed therewith from about 0.1 ppm up to about 100 ppm of at least one schiff base reaction product having the structure: ##STR117##
