Claims
- 1. An apparatus used to measure in-situ soil parameters, comprising; a flexible container having a closed first end, a second end, and a sidewall defining an interior volume adapted to contain a material;
at least one electrical conductor affixed to said container, said conductor being substantially flexible; said at least one electrical conductor being electrically connected to a means for measuring said soil parameter; and a signal analyzer means electrically connected to said means for measuring said soil parameters.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said second end of said container is open.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said second end is closed.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said second end is substantially sealed.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 4 wherein said second end contains a means for accepting a liquid.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said material is a liquid.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6 wherein said liquid is a resin.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said interior volume of said container is adapted to receive an article for reducing said interior volume.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 8 wherein said reduced interior volume of said container is adapted to contain a liquid.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said parameter is moisture content.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said parameter is electrical conductivity.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said parameter is a dielectric.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said at least one electrical conductor is substantially flat.
- 14. An apparatus used to measure in-situ soil parameters, comprising;
a flexible container having a closed first end, a second end, and a sidewall defining an interior volume adapted to contain a material; at least one electrical conductor affixed to said container, said conductor being substantially flexible; said at least one electrical conductor being electrically connected to a time domain reflectometry means; and a signal analyzer means electrically connected to said time domain reflectometry means.
- 15. A method of use of an apparatus used to measure soil parameters, comprising;
providing a flexible container having a closed first end, an open end, and a sidewall defining an interior volume adapted to contain a material; affixing one or more electrical conductors, to said flexible container, said one or more conductors being substantially flexible; electrically coupling said one or more conductors to a means for measuring said soil parameters; placing said container and said one or more conductors into a hole in said soil; injecting said container with a liquid such that an outer surface of said one or more electrical contacts, contacts said soil; and monitoring said soil parameters from said soil.
- 16. The method of claim 15 wherein said second end of said container open.
- 17. The method of claim 15 wherein said second end is closed.
- 18. The method of claim 15 wherein said second end is substantially sealed.
- 19. The method of claim 18 wherein said second end contains a means for accepting a liquid.
- 20. The method of claim 15 wherein said material is a liquid.
- 21. The method of claim 21 wherein said liquid is a resin.
- 22. The method of claim 15 wherein said interior volume of said container is adapted to receive an article for reducing said interior volume.
- 23. The method of claim 23 wherein said reduced interior volume of said container is adapted to contain a liquid.
- 24. The method of claim 15 wherein said parameter is moisture content.
- 25. The method of claim 15 wherein said parameter is a electrical conductivity.
- 26. The method of claim 15 wherein said parameters is a dielectric.
- 27. The method of claim 15 wherein said one or more electrical conductors is substantially flat.
