Floor Mat Puzzle

Abstract
A floor mat puzzle, forming a non-rectangular isometric polygonal mat, has a plurality of edges and a same number of corners as the edges, each corner disposed between two edges. Each edge has at least one engaging protrusion and at least one concavity, each edge further has a first corner protrusion and a second corner protrusion at two corners, and a corresponding first corner concavity and a corresponding second corner concavity provided respectively adjacent to the first corner protrusion and the second corner protrusion.
Description
BACKGROUND of INVENTION
1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a floor mat puzzle, and more particularly to a floor mat puzzle having a non-rectangular isometric polygonal shape.


2. Description of Related Art

Currently, assemble floor mats have been very common for homes, kindergartens, gyms or dance studios, to provide a soft, supple and safe venue. Most common shape of the floor mat is the square floor mat. The square floor mat is provided with the corresponding engaging protrusions and the engaging concavities, for different combinations. However, the square floor mat cannot provide various combinations. On the other hand, some of the floor mats can only be combined with the same surface side. If one of them is flipped, since the front and the back surfaces are not mutually compatible, there is no agreement between the engaging protrusion and the engaging concavity, and they cannot be combined to each other, which greatly reduces the variability of the combination of the floor mat.


Therefore, it is desirable to provide floor mat puzzle having a non-rectangular isometric polygonal shape to mitigate and/or obviate the aforementioned problems.


SUMMARY of INVENTION

An objective of present invention is to provide a floor mat puzzle having a non-rectangular isometric polygonal mat, which is capable of improving the above-mention problems.


In order to achieve the above mentioned objective, a floor mat puzzle with a wood-patterned top layer has a bottom layer and a surface layer fixed onto a top of the bottom layer. The bottom layer is a foam material, and the surface layer is a hard plastic film embossed with a wood pattern and having indentations corresponding to the wood pattern.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 2. A floor mat puzzle, forming a non-rectangular isometric polygonal mat, comprises a plurality of edges and a same number of corners as the edges. In a preferred embodiment, the floor mat puzzle 10 is a hexagonal mat having six edges 11 and six corners 12, and each edge 11 has more than one engaging protrusion 111 and more than one engaging concavity 112. Two corners 12 of one edge 11 are respectively provided with a first corner protrusion 121 and a second corner protrusion 122 a different directions. A corresponding first corner concavity 123 and a corresponding second corner concavity 124 are provided respectively adjacent to the first corner protrusion 121 and the second corner protrusion 122. Furthermore, the first and second corner protrusions 121, 122 and the first and second corner concavities 123, 124 are arranged symmetrically identical with is each alternate corner from both sides.


For actual application, please refer to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. To assemble the floor mats 10, the edges 11 are pushed against each other, with the engagements between the engaging protrusions 111 and the engaging concavities, the corner 12 collects the first corner protrusion 121 and the first corner concavity 123 together, and the second corner protrusion 122 and the second corner concavity 124 are combined together, to form a honeycomb structure.


In addition, the floor mat 10 may be a mat with a color pattern on both sides for the consumer to choose and use. Please refer to FIGS. 4 and 5 again, since the first and second corner protrusions 121, 122 and the corresponding first and second corner concavities 123, 124 on the corner 12 of the floor mat 10 are arranged symmetrically with a triangle connection that they are arranged in an alternative manner. Therefore, when the floor mat 10 is flipped over in a comer-to-corner manner, with the same combination of state, it is able to provide various designs.


Another embodiment of the present invention, please refer to FIG. 6. The floor mat 20 is an octagonal mat having eight edges 21 and eight corners 22. Each edge 21 has corresponding engaging protrusions 211 and engaging concavities 212, and the two corners 22 of the same edges 21 are provided with a first corner protrusion 221 and a second corner protrusion 222 in different directions. The first and second corner protrusions 221, 222 are respectively provided with a first corner concavity 223 and a second corner concavity 224 adjacent, and the first and second corner protrusions 221, 222 and the first and second corner concavities 223, 224 are symmetrically arranged in a rectangular connection manner. The states of the alternative arrangement allows the floor mats 20 to be still compatible when it is flipped edge-to-edge.


For actual application of the above mentioned embodiment, please refer to FIGS. 7, 8 and 9. To assemble the floor mats 20, the edges 21 are pushed against each other, with the engagements between the engaging protrusions 211 and the engaging concavities 212, the first corner protrusion 221 engages with the first corner concavity 223 together, and the second corner protrusion 222 engages with the second corner concavity 224.


Although the present invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of invention as hereinafter claimed.

  • 1. A floor mat puzzle, forming a non-rectangular isometric polygonal mat, comprising a plurality of edges and a same number of corners as the edges, each corner disposed between two edges, each edge having at least one engaging protrusion and at least one concavity, each edge further having a first corner protrusion and a second corner protrusion at two corners, and a corresponding first corner concavity and a corresponding second corner concavity provided respectively adjacent to the first corner protrusion and the second corner protrusion; wherein first corner protrusions and first corner concavities of each edge are mirror images of first corner protrusions and first corner concavities of an edge on an opposite side of the floor mat puzzle to provide a same combination state when the floor mat puzzle is flipped over.

The floor mat puzzle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the floor mat puzzle is a hexagonal mat having six edges and six corners, and the first and second corner protrusions and the first and second corner concavities are arranged symmetrically identical with each alternate corner from both sides.
  • 3. The floor mat puzzle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the floor mat puzzle is an octagonal mat having eight edges and eight corners, and the first and second corner protrusions and the first and second corner concavities are arranged symmetrically identical with each alternate corner from both sides.
  • 4. The floor mat puzzle as claimed in claim 1, wherein a pattern on a first side of the floor mat puzzle is different from a pattern on an opposite side of the floor mat puzzle.
