Abstract
A floor stand that acts as support for snowboard and/or skateboard.
Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] 1. Field of the Invention

[0003] The present invention relates generally to a floor skateboard or snowboard stand for storage of skateboards or snowboards in a vertical position.

[0004] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0005] The increasing popularity of skateboards and snowboards has motivated inventors to create a variety of storage or carrying means. They vary from backpack and belt hooks for transportation to wall mounted racks for storage. Generally, those wall mounted racks are designed either for skateboards or snowboards but not both. There are also floor stands also designed for either snowboards or skateboards but none offer the compact and versatile functionality of this invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] This present invention describes a compact floor stand that can be used both for snowboards and skateboards heretofore known as the “implements”.

[0007] It is therefore an object of this present invention to provide a floor stand for the above defined implements.

[0008] It is another object of this present invention to have this floor stand to hold the implements in an upright position without the need for additional support.

[0009] To attain these ends, the floor stand is comprised of a front stopper element and a back stopper element and in the space between the front and back stopper, an implement's front or back end will rest. Letting go of the implement will naturally (gravity helping) allow the implement to tip slightly toward the back stopper which results in the implement to fit snugly in the space between the front and back stoppers.

[0010] The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of this invention will become more readily apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein the preferred embodiment of the invention is shown and described, by way of examples. As will be realized, the invention is capable of other and different embodiments, and its several details are capable of modifications in various obvious respects, all without departing from the invention. Accordingly, the drawings and description are to be regarded as illustrative in nature, and not as restrictive.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0011]
FIG. 1 is a side view of the invention.

[0012]
FIG. 2 is a front view of the invention.

[0013]
FIG. 3 is an isometric view of the invention with an implement installed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0014] As seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, a floor stand (1) is comprised of a front abutment (2) and a rear rest (3), the space in between forms a cradle (4). Contiguous to the top of the rear rest (3) are a pair of ears (5) better seen in FIG. 3.

[0015] The rear rest (3) acts as lever to counter the shift in the center of gravity as imposed by the addition of the implement (6) in the cradle (4). The ears (5) are especially suited to accomodate the wheels (7) of the implement (6).

[0016] For a snowboard, the user simply has to drop the tip into the cradle (4) and let it lean against the ears (5) or, in the case of a skateboard, engage the wheels as in FIG. 3 across the ears (5) and let the tip of the skateboard rest into the cradle (4).

Claims
  • 1. A floor stand for skateboard and snowboard is comprised of: a front abutment, a rear rest and a cradle situated in between the said front abutment and rear rest; contiguous to the top of the rear rest are a pair of ears to support an implement.
  • 2. A floor stand for skateboard and snowboard has the following method of use: for a snowboard, a user drops the tip of the said snowboard into the cradle and let it lean against the ears; in the case of a skateboard, the wheels of the said skateboard engage the ears by straddling them as the tip of the aid skateboard rests into the cradle.
