Claims
- 1. A recording material comprising a support having at least one layer therein containing a chromogenic fluoran compound of the formula (I) ##STR14## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are different groups and are selected form cyclohexyl, n-butyl and isobutyl.
- 2. The recording material of claim 1, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is cyclohexyl and R.sub.2 is n-butyl.
- 3. The recording material of claim 1, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is cyclohexyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl.
- 4. The recording material of claim 1, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is n-butyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl.
- 5. The recording material of claim 1, wherein the fluoran compound of formula (I) is in crystalline form.
- 6. The recording material of claim 5, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is cyclohexyl and R.sub.2 is n-butyl, and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K .alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.theta. of 9.2.degree., 15.2.degree., 18.5.degree., 19.5.degree., 19.9.degree. and 21.8`, and a relatively high peak at 19.1.degree. and 22.8.degree..
- 7. The recording material of claim 5, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is cyclohexyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl, and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K.alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.theta. of 7.9.degree. and 19.0.degree. and a relatively high peak at 17.0.degree., 20.3.degree. and 24.1.degree..
- 8. The recording material of claim 5, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is n-butyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl, and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K .alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.theta. of 6.7.degree., 11.6.degree., and 20.7.degree., and a relatively high peak at 12.1.degree., 18.2.degree. and 21.3.degree..
- 9. The recording material of claim 1, wherein the fluoran compound of formula (I) is in the form of a crystalline toluene adduct.
- 10. The recording material of claim 9, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is cyclohexyl and R.sub.2 is n-butyl and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K.alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.theta. of 5.5.degree., 9.5.degree., 17.7.degree., 18.7.degree., 19.1.degree. and 19.6.degree., and a relatively high peak at 11.8.degree., 15.3.degree., 21.0.degree., 23.4.degree., 23.7.degree. and 24.2.degree..
- 11. The recording material of claim 9, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is cyclohexyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K.alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.theta. of 6.0.degree., and a relatively high peak at 11.2.degree., 13.3.degree., 16.4.degree., 18.5.degree., 19.0.degree. and 20.6.degree..
- 12. The recording material of claim 9, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is n-butyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl, and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K.alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.varies. of 5.7.degree. and a relatively high peak at 17.8.degree., 18.7.degree., 20.3.degree. and 24.4.degree..
- 13. The recording material of claim 9, wherein in the fluoran compound of formula (I) R.sub.1 is n-butyl and R.sub.2 is isobutyl, and the X-ray diffraction diagram by Cu-K.alpha. beams of the crystalline form of the fluoran compound indicates a high peak at a diffraction angle 2.varies. of 6.3.degree. and a relatively high peak at 13.2.degree., 16.4.degree., 20.3.degree. and 20.6.degree..
