Claims
- 1. Process comprising pyrolyzing, in an aprotic solvent, at a temperature of about 130.degree. C. to about 300.degree. C., the compound of the formula
- CF.sub.2 X.sup.2 CFX.sup.3 O[CF.sub.2 CF(CF.sub.3)O].sub.n CF.sub.2 CF.sub.2 CO.sub.2 M.sub.(1/m)
- wherein X.sup.2 and X.sup.3 are both Br, n is an integer and is 1 to 6 and M is an alkali or alkaline earth metal cation of valence m to produce the compound of the formula
- CF.sub.2 .dbd.CFO[CF.sub.2 CF(CF.sub.3)O].sub.n CF.sub.2 CF.sub.2 Br
- wherein n is an integer and is 1 to 6.
- 2. Process of claim 1 wherein the temperature is 170.degree. C. to 230.degree. C. and the aprotic solvent has a boiling point higher than the boiling point of the compound being prepared.
