Claims
- 1. A fluorochemical compound having the formula (R.sub.f Q).sub.e (XCO).sub.m A(COOM).sub.p where R.sub.f is fluorinated aliphatic radical having from three to twenty carbon atoms and containing about 40-78 weight percent carbon-bonded fluorine, "Q" is a divalent linking radical selected from the group consisting of --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --, --SO.sub.2 NR.sub.1 (CH.sub.2).sub.n --, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --, --SO.sub.2 NR.sub.1 (CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2, --SO.sub.2 (C.sub.2 H.sub.5)C.sub.2 H.sub.4 NHC.sub.2 H.sub.4 -- and --SO.sub.2 ##STR22## wherein "R.sub.1 " is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group having from about 1 to 14 carbon atoms and "n" is an integer from about 1 to 15, "M" is a cation selected from NH.sub.4.sup.+, Na.sup.+, K.sup.+, Li.sup.+, H.sup.+ or is a protonated alkyl amine having from 1-6 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, "A" is a polyvalent organic radical having a valency of m+p and is the residue obtained by eliminating the carboxyl groups of a polybasic organic acid or an organic anhydride and is selected from the group consisting of maleic, succinic, phthalic, tetrachlorophthalic, chlorendic, tetrabromophthalic, 3-nitrophthalic, 4-nitrophthalic, cis 1,2-cyclohexane dicarboxylic, 5-norborene-2,3-dicarboxylic, 1,8-naphthalene dicarboxylic and benezophenone tetracarboxylic and pyromellitic, "X" is NR (wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl group of from 1 to 14 carbon atoms), or N and "e", "p" and "m" are integers of 1 or 2.
- 2. The compound of claim 1 wherein "A" is the residue of chlorendic anhydride.
- 3. A fluorochemical compound having the formula ##STR23## wherein R.sub.f is C.sub.8 F.sub.17 and M is K.sup.+, Na.sup.+ or NH.sub.4.sup.+.
- 4. A fluorochemical compound having the formula ##STR24## wherein R.sub.f is a fluorinated aliphatic radical having from three to twenty carbon atoms and containing about 40-78 weight percent carbon bonded fluorine and M is K.sup.+, Na.sup.+ or NH.sub.4.sup.+.
