Abstract
The flush controller interrupts the flow of clean water down the toilet drain at the total control of the person flushing the toilet.
Description
CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

The inventor is not aware of any device which works as does the flush controller.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

The flush controller was developed to end the needless, and heretofore unstoppable, waste of clean water every time a toilet is flushed. It came about as the result of the inventor's observation of the wasteful propensity of the flush toilet as it is now configured. Once the flapper is raised, it will allow water from the reservoir to flow down the drain until there is not water enough left in the reservoir to impede the drop of the flapper back over the flush valve seat. This uses up to 1.6 gallons per flush.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

On toilets as now configured, when the flapper is raised, it will stay in the raised position until the water level in the reservoir drops to the point where the flapper weighs more that the water pressure keeping it in the upraised position.

There are no known devices, prior to the flush controller, which can arrest the flapper's ascent at any point in the flush cycle and cause the flapper to fall back in place over the flush valve seat.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1 shows the overall length and width of the flush controller, along with the placement of the holes by which the flush controller is attached to the filler tube.

FIG. 2 shows the position of the flush controller installed over the flapper. Once the flush handle is released the flapper falls back into place over the flush valve seat.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The flush controller is made of totally recycled high density polyethylene. It is made using a stamping device to cut the polyethylene into a rectangular shape which is 10½ inches long by 3 inches wide. The thickness is 0.016 inch.

On each end of the flush controller is a ⅞ inch hole 1 inch from the ends and centered on the horizontal midline. These holes allow the flush controller to be placed over the filler tube so that it forms a horseshoe-shaped spring over the flapper. When the flush handle is released, the pressure from the horseshoe causes the flapper to instantly fall back into its resting position to prevent further running of clean water into the toilet bowl. Tick marks of 1/16 inch are made on the circumference of each hole to accommodate filler tubes of various diameters.

The person flushing the toilet has total control of the amount of water used in the flushing process.

The flush controller can be installed by anybody in not more than 2 minutes. There are absolutely no tools required for installation and the water does not have to be shut off.
