Claims
- 1. A solid wire for arc welding wherein a specific surface area defined by the following equation is in the range of from 0.0005 to 0.05,
- specific surface area equals (Sa/Sm)-1
- wherein Sm is an apparent surface area and Sa is a real surface area in a region to be measured on a surface of said wire, and
- wherein molybdenum disulfide is stuck on said surface of said wire in an amount of from about 0.001 to 0.5 g/m.sup.2 and no plating is applied on said surface of said wire, and
- wherein lubricating oil is stuck on said surface of said wire in an mount of from about 0.01 to 0.5 g/m.sup.2, and
- wherein an mount of matter stock on said surface of said wire is about 2.0 g/m.sup.2 or less, and
- further wherein the concentration of oxygen in a surface area of said wire is in the range of from about 100 to 1,000 ppm, and the avenge concentration of oxygen in the wire is about 70 ppm or less.
- 2. The solid wire of claim 1, wherein said amount of matter stuck on said surface of said wire is about 1.0 g/m.sup.2 or less.
- 3. The solid wire of claim 1, wherein said molybdenum disulfide has an average particle size of from about 0.1 to 10 .mu.m.
- 4. A solid wire for arc welding wherein a specific surface area defined by the following equation is in the range of from about 0.005 to 0.05,
- specific surface area equals (Sa/Sm)-1
- wherein Sm is an apparent surface area and Sa is a real surface area in a region to be measured on the surface of said wire,
- wherein molybdenum disulfide is stuck on said surface of said wire in an amount of from about 0.001 to 0.5 g/m.sup.2, and no plating is applied on said surface of said wire, and
- wherein a compound containing Li, Na, K, Rb or Cs or a mixture thereof is stuck on said surface of said wire in an amount of from about 0.0005 to 0.01 mol/m.sup.2, and
- wherein an amount of matter stuck on said surface of said wire is about 2.0 g/m.sup.2 of less, and
- further wherein the concentration of oxygen in a surface layer of said wire in the range of from about 10 to 1,000 ppm, and the average concentration of oxygen in the wire is about 70 ppm or less.
- 5. The solid wire of claim 4, wherein said amount of matter stuck on said surface of said wire is about 1.0 g/m.sup.2 or less.
- 6. The solid wire of claim 4, wherein said molybdenum disulfide has an average particle size of from about 0.1 to 10 .mu.m.
- 7. A solid wire for arc welding wherein a specific surface area defined by the following equation is in the range of from about 0.005 to 0.05,
- specific surface area equals (Sa/Sm)-1
- wherein Sm is an apparent surface area and Sa is a real surface area in a region to be measured on the surface of said wire, and
- wherein molybdenum disulfide is stuck on said surface of said wire in an amount of from about 0.001 to 0.5 g/m.sup.2, and no plating is applied on said surface of said wire, and
- wherein lubricating oil is stuck on said surface of said wire in an amount of from about 0.01 to 0.5 g/m.sup.2, and
- wherein a compound containing Li, Na, K, Rb or Cr or a mixture thereof is stuck on said surface of said wire in an amount of from about 0.005 to 0.1 g/m.sup.2, and
- wherein an amount of matter stuck on said surface of said wire is about 2.0 g/m.sup.2 or less, and
- further wherein the oxygen in a surface area of said wire is in the range of from about 100 to 1,000 ppm, and the average concentration of oxygen in the wire is about 70 ppm or less.
- 8. The solid wire of claim 7, wherein said amount of matter stuck on said surface of said wire is about 1.0 g/m.sup.2 or less.
- 9. The solid wire of claim 7, wherein said molybdenum disulfide has an average particle size of from about 0.1 to 10 .mu.m.
