Claims
- 1. A method of forming a stabilized foam effective for spray application, comprising:dry mixing a formulation comprising a hydraulic binder, polyvinyl alcohol present in an amount effective for enhancing the adherence and coherence of said foam to a substrate, and a set retarder; forming a pumpable slurry by adding a sufficient amount of water to said dry mixture; conveying said slurry to a length of hose; introducing a gas into said slurry in said length of hose to create sufficient turbulence in said hose to cause said slurry to foam; and conveying said foam through said hose.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said substrate is selected from the group consisting of prime steel and unprimed steel.
- 3. A method of forming a composition effective for spray application to a substrate, comprising:dry mixing a formulation comprising a hydraulic binder, a substrate adherence and coherence enhancement agent and a set retarder; forming a pumpable slurry by adding a sufficient amount of water to said dry mixture; conveying said slurry to a length of hose; conveying said slurry through said hose to a nozzle; and spraying said slurry onto said substrate.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein said substrate adherence and coherence enhancement agent is a liquid latex.
- 5. The method of claim 3, wherein said substrate adherence and coherence enhancement agent is selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycols, poly(vinylacetate), poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) copolymers, poly(ethylacrylates), poly(methacrylic) acid, starches, natural thickeners, and mixtures thereof.
