Claims
- 1. A liner for preventing cross-contamination of reagent or solution from one column of an agglutination assay cassette to another column of said cassette, wherein said liner comprises a body and at least one conical member depending therefrom, wherein said conical member has an aperture at a narrowed apex thereof, and wherein said conical member has sealing means located at a position spaced from said narrowed apex.
- 2. The liner of claim 1 wherein the conical member comprises a first end comprising said narrowed apex and a second end spaced therefrom adjacent to said body, wherein said sealing means is located at or adjacent to said second end.
- 3. The liner of claim 2 wherein the sealing means comprises an o-ring surrounding said conical member.
- 4. The liner of claim 3 wherein the sealing means comprises an o-ring integral with said conical member.
- 5. The liner of claim 4 comprising six conical members linearly depending from said body.
- 6. The liner of claim 5 sized to fit in the columns of the agglutination assay cassette.
- 7. The liner of claim 6 wherein the liner is acrylic.
- 8. A liner comprising a body and six conical members depending therefrom, wherein each conical member comprises a first end spaced from said body and having an aperture at a narrowed apex thereof and a second end spaced from said first end having an o-ring surrounding and integral with said conical member.
- 9. A foil sealed cassette comprising six reaction vessels linearly arranged therein, and a liner comprising a body and six conical members linearly depending therefrom, wherein the conical members comprise a narrowed apex capable of puncturing said foil seal, and when inserted such liner is frictionally engaged in said cassette so as to seal a junction between the cassette and the liner.
- 10. The foil sealed cassette and liner of claim 9 wherein the means for sealing said junction is o-rings surrounding each of said conical members and integral with each of said conical members.
