Referring now to FIGS. 1-3C, there is depicted an exemplary bed, generally designated 100, in accordance with some exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. Bed 100 includes a frame, such as frame 1, and a cover, such as cover 2, coupled to and supported by the frame. The frames can be made of various materials including but not limited to metals (e.g., iron, steel, and aluminum), plastics and woods. Similarly, the cover can be made of various materials including but not limited to plastics, rubbers and fabric. In some exemplary embodiments, the cover or a component of the cover (e.g., one or more covering members disclosed herein) is made of a fabric. The cover is configured to serve as a resting place for users, e.g., supporting a user in a lying position.

Frame 1 includes one or more mounting members configured for holding the cover. For instance, as a non-limiting example, FIGS. 1-3A illustrate that frame 1 includes first mounting member 11 and second mounting member 12. The first and second mounting members can be but do not have to be identical or symmetrical to each other. In some exemplary embodiments, the first or second mounting member includes multiple segments. For instance, referring in particular to FIGS. 3A and 3B, in some exemplary embodiments, first mounting member 11 includes left mounting segment 11a and right mounting segment 11b connected by lateral segment 11c. Similarly, in some exemplary embodiments, second mounting member 12 includes left mounting segment 12a and right mounting segment 12b connected by lateral segment 12c. The multiple segments can be integrally formed of a unitary piece (e.g., the first or second mounting member is integrally formed of a single piece such as a single bar) or connected to each other (e.g., multiple segments connected by welding or connectors). In some exemplary embodiments, the first or second mounting member is substantially U-shaped. In an exemplary embodiment, each of the first and second mounting members is substantially U-shaped.

Frame 1 also includes a plurality of leg assemblies for supporting the one or more mounting members when the bed is in use. For instance, as a non-limiting example, FIGS. 1-3A illustrate that frame 1 includes first leg assembly 13, second leg assembly 14 and third leg assembly 15 (also referred herein as the middle leg assembly). The first and second leg assemblies can be but do not have to be identical or symmetrical to each other. In some exemplary embodiments, the first leg assembly is connected to the first mounting member, the second leg assembly is connected to the second mounting member, and the third leg assembly is connected to both of the first and second mounting members.

Referring in particular to FIGS. 3A and 3B, in some exemplary embodiments, first leg assembly 13 includes left leg 13a and right leg 13b, which are connected to left mounting segment 11a and right mounting segment 11b of the first mounting member, respectively. In an exemplary embodiment, left leg 13a is connected to an inner side of left mounting segment 11a (e.g., a side of the left mounting segment facing the right mounting segment). Similarly, right leg 13b is connected to an inner side of right mounting segment 11b (e.g., a side of the right mounting segment facing the left mounting segment). Additionally or optionally, in some exemplary embodiments, first leg assembly 13 includes lateral bar 13c connecting left leg 13a with right leg 13b. In some exemplary embodiments, lateral bar 13c of the first leg assembly is connected to lateral mounting segment 11c of the first mounting member by one or more supports 16 to enhance the strength, stability and/or other function of the bed.

In some exemplary embodiments, the first leg assembly is foldable relative to the first mounting member. For instance, in an exemplary embodiment, left leg 13a is pivotally connected to left mounting segment 11a and right leg 13b is pivotally connected to right mounting segment 11b. Each support 16 has an end pivotally connected to lateral mounting segment 11c of the first mounting member and another end pivotally connected to lateral bar 13c of the first leg assembly, for example, by hinge piece a1 and pin a2. Moreover, each support 16 is selectively adjustable in length. For instance, in some exemplary embodiments, each support 16 includes a first bar and a second bar slidably coupled to each other and a locking/unlocking mechanism configured to control movement of the first and second bars relative to each other. When unlocked, the first and second bars are allowed to move relative to each other. The relative movement of the first and second bars changes the length of the support, thereby allowing the first leg assembly to fold or unfold relative to the first mounting member. When locked, the first and second bars are prevented from moving relative to each other, thereby holding the first leg assembly in place and enhancing the stability of the bed when in use.

Similarly, in some exemplary embodiments, second leg assembly 14 includes left leg 14a and right leg 14b, which are connected to left mounting segment 12a and right mounting segment 12b of the second mounting member, respectively. In an exemplary embodiment, left leg 14a is connected to an inner side of left mounting segment 12a (e.g., a side of the left mounting segment facing the right mounting segment). Similarly, right leg 14b is connected to an inner side of right mounting segment 12b (e.g., a side of the right mounting segment facing the left mounting segment). Additionally or optionally, in some exemplary embodiments, second leg assembly 14 includes lateral bar 14c connecting left leg 14a with right leg 14b. In some exemplary embodiments, lateral bar 14c of the second leg assembly is connected to lateral mounting segment 12c of the second mounting member by one or more supports 17 to enhance the strength, stability and/or other function of the bed.

In some exemplary embodiments, the second leg assembly is foldable relative to the second mounting member. For instance, in an exemplary embodiment, left leg 14a is pivotally connected to left mounting segment 12a and right leg 14b is pivotally connected to right mounting segment 12b. Each support 17 has an end pivotally connected to lateral mounting segment 12c of the second mounting member and another end pivotally connected to lateral bar 14c of the second leg assembly. Similar to support 16, each support 17 is selectively adjustable in length, e.g., having a first bar and a second bar slidably coupled to each other and a locking/unlocking mechanism configured to control movement of the first and second bars relative to each other. When unlocked, the support 17 allows the second leg assembly to fold or unfold relative to the second mounting member. When locked, the support 17 holds the second leg assembly in place and enhances the stability of the bed when in use.

Referring in particular to FIGS. 3A and 3C, in some exemplary embodiments, third leg assembly 15 includes left leg 15a, right leg 15b, and additional or optional lateral bar 15c connected to left leg 15a and right leg 15b. Left leg 15a is connected to an end of left mounting segment 11a of the first mounting and an end of left mounting segment 12a of the second mounting member, for instance, via a connecting member 31. Right leg 15b is connected to an end of right mounting segment 11b of the first mounting and an end of right mounting segment 12b of the second mounting member, for instance, via another connecting member 31. In some exemplary embodiments, connecting member 31 is fixed (e.g., welded or fastened) on an upper end of left leg 15a or an upper end of right leg 15b. Also, connecting member 31 is pivotally connected to the left mounting segments of the first and second mounting members or to the right mounting segments of the first and second mounting members. For instance, in some exemplary embodiments, connecting member 31 includes first hole 31a and second hole 31b, through which the connecting member is pivotally connected to the left mounting segments of the first and second mounting members or to the right mounting segments of the first and second mounting members by first pin b1 and second pin b2.

In some exemplary embodiments, the upper end of left leg 15a is inclined, e.g., having an inclined portion 15a, and the upper end of right leg 15b is inclined, e.g., having an inclined portion 15b. In some exemplary embodiments, a strengthening member, such as strengthening member 32, is disposed adjacent to connecting member 31 to enhance the strength of the leg and/or help support the connecting member when the bed is in use. In an exemplary embodiment, the strengthening member abuts the connecting member. In some exemplary embodiments, the strengthening member forms a triangular structure with the leg (e.g., the strengthening member is a bent piece forming two sides of a triangle while a portion of the leg forms the other side of the triangle). In some exemplary embodiments, when the bed is in use, the strengthening member is disposed at a junction between the left mounting segments of the first and second mounting members or between the right mounting segments of the first and second mounting members.

Referring in particular to FIG. 1, in some exemplary embodiments, cover 2 includes a first covering member, such as first covering member 20, configured for supporting a user in a lying position. The first covering member typically faces upward when the bed is in use. In some exemplary embodiments, the first covering member is taut and substantially flat when the cover is connected to the frame.

Referring in particular to FIGS. 2, 3A and 4, in some exemplary embodiments, cover 2 includes second and third covering members, such as second covering member 21 and third covering members 22. The second covering member is configured to form a first pocket, such as first pocket 25, with a first portion of the first covering member. The third covering member is configured to form a second pocket, such as second pocket 26, with a second portion of the first covering member. In addition, a gap, such as gap 23, is formed between the second and third covering members. While FIG. 4 illustrates that the gap is substantially straight and elongated in the lateral direction of the bed, it should be noted that this is by way of example and the present disclosure is not limited thereto. The gap may be formed of other shapes and extended in other directions. In some exemplary embodiments, cover 2 includes a link, such as link 23a, operable to close at least a portion of the gap between the second and third covering members. In an exemplary embodiment, the link includes a zipper having a zipping member disposed at an edge of the second covering member and another zipping member disposed at an edge of the third covering member.

The second and third covering members can be but do not have to be identical or symmetrical to each other. Similarly, the first and second pockets formed by the second and third covering members with the first covering member can be but do not have to be identical or symmetrical to each other. Moreover, the second covering member, the third covering member or both of the second and third covering members can be integrally formed with the first covering member (e.g., the first, second and/or third covering members are integrally formed of a unitary piece) or connected to the first covering member (e.g., by sewing or adhesive or the like). The first, second, or third covering member can be made of any suitable material, including but not limited to plastics, rubbers and fabric. In some exemplary embodiments, at least one of the first, second and third covering members of the cover is made of a fabric. In an exemplary embodiment, each of the first, second and third covering members of the cover is made of a fabric.

The first pocket, second pocket and gap are configured for coupling the cover with the one or more mounting members of the frame. For instance, in some exemplary embodiments, the first pocket and gap are configured to allow insertion of first mounting member 11 into the first pocket through the gap as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6, and the second pocket and gap are configured to allow insert of second mounting member 12 into the second pocket through the gap as illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8. In some exemplary embodiments, the first pocket is configured for a snug fit with the first mounting member (e.g., fits tightly on the first mounting member) and the second pocket is configured for a snug fit with the second mounting member such that the first covering member is taut and/or substantially flat once the first and second mounting members are inserted into the first and second pockets, respectively.

In some exemplary embodiments, the second covering member is formed with one or more openings to expose one or more portions of the first mounting member when it is inserted into the first pocket to facilitate connection of other component(s) to the first mounting member. For instance, as a non-limiting example, FIG. 3A illustrates second coving member 21 including a left opening, such as left opening 21a, and a right opening, such as right opening 21b. Left opening 21a exposes a portion of left mounting segment 11a of the first mounting member to facilitate connection left leg 13a of the first leg assembly to the first mounting member (e.g., the left leg is connected to the exposed portion of the left mounting segment of the first mounting member). Right opening 21b exposes a portion of right mounting segment 11b of the first mounting member to facilitate connection right leg 13b of the first leg assembly to the first mounting member (e.g., the right leg is connected to the exposed portion of the right mounting segment of the first mounting member). In some exemplary embodiments, second coving member 21 includes one or more additional openings, such as opening 21c. Opening 21c exposes a portion of lateral mounting segment 11c to facilitate connection support 16 to the first mounting member (e.g., an end of the support is connected to the exposed portion of the lateral mounting segment of the first mounting member).

Similarly, in some exemplary embodiments, the third covering member is formed with one or more openings to expose one or more portions of the second mounting member when it is inserted into the second pocket to facilitate connection of other component(s) to the second mounting member. For instance, in some exemplary embodiments, third covering member 22 includes a left opening, such as left opening 22a, and a right opening, such as right opening 22b. Left opening 22a exposes a portion of left mounting segment 12a of the second mounting member to facilitate connection left leg 14a of the second leg assembly to the second mounting member (e.g., the left leg is connected to the exposed portion of the left mounting segment of the second mounting member). Right opening 22b exposes a portion of right mounting segment 12b of the second mounting member to facilitate connection right leg 14b of the second leg assembly to the second mounting member (e.g., the right leg is connected to the exposed portion of the right mounting segment of the second mounting member). In some exemplary embodiments, third covering member 22 includes one or more additional openings, such as opening 22c. Opening 22c exposes a portion of lateral mounting segment 12c to facilitate connection support 17 to the second mounting member (e.g., an end of the support is connected to the exposed portion of the lateral mounting segment of the second mounting member).

In some exemplary embodiments, one or more openings, such as left opening 27a and right opening 27b, are formed between the second and third covering members when gap 23 is closed by link 23a. Left opening 27a is configured to accommodate one or more of the upper end of left leg 15a and connecting member 31/strengthening member 32 disposed adjacent to the upper end of left leg 15a. Similarly, right opening 27b is configured to accommodate one or more of the upper end of right leg 15b and connecting member 31/strengthening member 32 disposed adjacent to the upper end of right leg 15b.

Referring to FIGS. 4-12, there is depicted an exemplary process for assembling bed 100 in accordance with some exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. The process includes unfolding cover 2 as illustrated in FIG. 4. Once the cover is unfolded, insert first mounting member 11 into the first pocket of the cover through the gap as illustrated in FIG. 5 until the designated portion(s) of the first mounting member for connecting the first leg assembly and/or other component(s) is exposed as illustrated in FIG. 6 (e.g., accessible from outside through the opening(s) of the second covering member). Insert second mounting member 12 into the second pocket of the cover through the gap as illustrated in FIG. 7 until the designated portion(s) of the second mounting member for connecting the second leg assembly and/or other component(s) is exposed as illustrated in FIG. 8 (e.g., accessible from outside through the opening(s) of the third covering member). Connect third leg assembly 15 to the first and second mounting members as illustrated in FIGS. 9 and 10. Connect first leg assembly 13 and support(s) 16 to the first mounting member and connect second leg assembly 14 and support(s) 17 to the second mounting member as illustrated in FIGS. 11 and 12. It should be noted that the process disclosed herein and exemplified in FIGS. 4-12 can be, but do not have to be, executed in full or in the order as they are presented. For instance, the first or second leg assembly can be installed prior to installation of the third leg assembly.

Once assembled, the cover is taut and the first covering member of the cover is substantially flat to provide a highly comfortable resting place for users. The bed is lightweight and has enhanced stability. Moreover, the bed can be folded with the cover connected to the frame without causing irreversible deformation or damage to the cover. This is achieved through precise engineering and careful consideration of the materials and structure. For instance, the bed (e.g., the positions and/or connections between the leg assemblies and mounting members, the openings on the cover) is configured such that forces exerted on the cover during the folding process (e.g., folding the first leg assembly relative to the first mounting member, folding the second leg assembly relative to the second mounting member) are distributed evenly to minimize any impact on the cover. The material (e.g., fabric) used for the cover is selected for its flexibility and durability, allowing it to withstand the folding without getting permanently deformed or damaged. Of course, if desired or preferred, the cover can be easily removed from the frame, for instance, by reversing the assembling process disclosed herein, and can then be cleaned and/or stored. Components of the disassembled frame can be stacked or reassembled, and the reassembled frame can be folded and/or stored. Whichever users prefer, the bed of the present disclosure is safe to use and easy to transport.
