Claims
- 1. A method of making a foldable card having multiple panels including an end panel, and foldable panels connected along fold lines, the method comprising the steps of:
- folding a sheet of card stock material along fold lines into a configuration in which all of the panels lie substantially flush,
- simultaneously cutting each panel of the card stock in the folded configuration along a line which at least partially defines a periphery of the end panel, wherein the periphery of the end panel extends at least partially beyond at least one of the fold lines.
- 2. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of attaching an end panel to a foldable panel at a surface area of contact not near a periphery of either panel and not coincident with a fold line joining said foldable panel to an adjacent foldable panel.
- 3. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of cutting at least one of the panels prior to folding the card stock.
- 4. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of embossing or debossing a portion of the card stock prior to folding.
- 5. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of applying a separate panel to one of the end panels and cutting along a line which defines an entire periphery of the separate panel, wherein the periphery of the separate panel extends at least partially laterally beyond one of the fold lines.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of cutting the outline of the card further comprises cutting portions of the fold lines.
- 7. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of attaching an end panel to an adjacent intermediate panel at a contacting surface area of the two panels not near the periphery of either panel and not coincident with the connecting fold line.
- 8. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of cutting along the line which defines the periphery of the end panel cuts a portion of the fold line connecting the end panel and the intermediate panel.
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of cutting the folded card stock is performed simultaneously upon a plurality of folded sheets of card stock.
- 10. A method for making a foldable card, the method comprising the steps of:
- folding a single sheet of paper stock into at least three panels connected along substantially parallel fold lines, each panel being substantially flush against adjacent panels, two of the at least three panels being end panels, a free peripheral edge of each end panel not being connected along a fold line, the free peripheral edge of each end panel extending laterally beyond the fold line connecting the other end panel and the panel adjacent to the other end panel; and
- simultaneously cutting each panel of the folded sheet of paper stock, each cut panel having a substantially non-linear peripheral edge profile, the peripheral edge profile of each cut panel being substantially similar, the free peripheral edge of each cut end panel extending laterally beyond the fold line connecting the other cut end panel and the panel adjacent to the other cut end panel.
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the fold line connecting a first panel and a second panel intersects the free peripheral edge of a third panel.
- 12. The method of claim 10, further comprising the step of:
- attaching a first panel to a second panel at a surface area of contact between the two panels not near the peripheral edge profile of either panel and not coincident with the fold line connecting the two panels.
- 13. The method of claim 12, wherein the step of simultaneously cutting each panel of the folded sheet of paper stock includes the step of cutting off at least a portion of the fold line connecting the first and second panels.
- 14. The method of claim 10, wherein the peripheral edge profile of each cut panel is substantially aligned.
- 15. The method of claim 10, further comprising the step of cutting out a portion of one of the panels.
- 16. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of simultaneously cutting each panel of the folded sheet of paper stock includes the step of cutting out a portion of one of the fold lines.
- 17. A method for making a foldable card, the method comprising the steps of:
- folding a single sheet of paper stock into at least three panels connected along substantially parallel fold lines, each panel being substantially flush against adjacent panels, two of the at least three panels being end panels, a free peripheral edge of each end panel not being connected along a fold line, the free peripheral edge of a first end panel extending laterally beyond the fold line connecting a second panel adjacent to the first end panel and a third panel adjacent to the second panel;
- attaching a surface of the first end panel to a face of the second panel at an area not coincident with the fold line connecting the two panels; and
- simultaneously cutting each panel of the folded sheet of paper stock, each cut panel having a substantially non-linear peripheral edge profile, the peripheral edge profile of each cut panel being substantially similar, the free peripheral edge of the cut first end panel extending laterally beyond the fold line connecting the second panel and the third panel.
- 18. The method of claim 17, wherein the step of simultaneously cutting each panel of the folded sheet of paper stock includes the step of cutting off the fold line connecting the first end panel and the second panel.
