Claims
- 1. A foldable tote box comprising two side-wall panels, each said side wall panel having four holding tabs, each said holding tab being near a corner of the side panel, and two end-wall panels, each of the end-wall panels having two corner wing panels, each of said corner wing panels having two locking insert tabs, wherein each of said locking insert tabs is formed in cutting lines at a predetermined location on the corner wing panel and engaged with one of said holding tabs formed at a predetermined location on the corresponding side wall panels so as to lock the corresponding side wall and corner wing panels when the box is assembled, and wherein each locking insert tab and its corresponding holding tab are oriented in the same direction, and wherein each of said locking insert tabs is generally in form of a U-shaped cutting line, and said locking insert tab is longer than the corresponding holding tab, while the holding tab is wider than the locking insert tab such that upon pressing the holding tab away from its original position, the holding tab can be bent to let the locking insert tab slide through, and upon releasing the pressing, the locking insert tab can be held by the holding tab.
- 2. The tote box of claim 1, further comprising at least one cover which comprises a base panel, two side panels, two end panels, and four corner panels that are integrally connected to the end panels, said cover having locking insert tabs on the side panels and holding tabs formed on the corner panels such that the locking insert tabs are pressed and inserted through the holding tabs and held by the holding tabs when the side panels and end panels are folded upward to form the cover.
- 3. A one-piece foldable tote box comprising a bottom panel having two side edges and two end edges, two side panels respectively connected to the side edges of the bottom panel along first scored folding lines, two end panels respectively connected to the bottom panel along second scored folding lines, and four corner panels connected, respectively, to side edges of the side panels along third scored folding lines, two of the corner panels each having at least one locking insert tab formed thereon, and the other two of the corner panels each having at least one holding tab formed thereon, wherein each of said locking insert tabs is formed in cutting lines at a predetermined location on one of the two corner panels and engaged with one of said holding tabs formed at a predetermined location on one of the other two corner panels so as to lock the corresponding corner panels together when the box is assembled, and wherein each locking insert tab and its corresponding holding tab are oriented in the same direction, and said foldable tote further comprises a plurality of cuts along the top edges of the side panels and the corresponding top edges of the corner panels, that define the opening of the box, said cuts being capable of clipping any sheet of flexible material thereat.
- 4. The foldable tote box of claim 3, further comprising a cover panel connected to the top edge of one of the side panels opposite to the first folding line of said one side panel, said cover panel further comprising a pair of insert panels at each side edge thereof tote box of claim 3, wherein each of said locking insert tabs is generally in form of a U-shaped cutting line.
- 5. The tote box of claim 3, wherein each of said locking insert tabs is generally of a U-shaped cutting line.
- 6. The tote box of claim 5, wherein said locking insert tab is longer than the corresponding holding tab, while the holding tab is wider than the locking insert tab such that upon pressing the holding tab away from its original position, the holding tab can be bent to let the locking insert tab slide through, and upon releasing the pressing, the locking insert tab can be held by the holding tab.

No. 09/150,402, filed Sep. 9, 1998, which has been granted as U.S. Pat. No. 5,996,885. This divisional application discloses the improvement of the foldable tote box described in U.S. Ser. No. 08/949,174 that is granted as U.S. Pat. No. 5,913,474 to the same inventor and owned by the same assignee.
