Claims
- 1. A broadband antenna comprising:
- closely-spaced elongated conductive elements forming a loop having a bow-tie structure;
- said loop having a pair of feeding points located thereon; and
- said loop being adapted to provide reception over the entire VHF and UHF bands of frequencies.
- 2. The broadband antenna in claim 1 wherein:
- said elongated conductive loop is formed out of a portion of a conductive material layer of a dish-shaped microwave reflector; and
- said portion of said conductive material layer forming said elongated conductive loop being separated from an other portion of said conductive material layer by a non-conductive gap so that said loop operates as part of said microwave reflector and operates for providing reception over the entire VHF and UHF bands of frequencies.
- 3. The broadband antenna in claim 2 wherein:
- part of said rest of said conductive material forms impedance transforming means.
- 4. The broadband antenna in claim 2 wherein:
- part of said rest of said conductive material forms coupling means.
- 5. The broadband antenna in claim 2 wherein:
- a first part of said rest of said conductive material forms impedance transforming means; and
- a second part of said rest of said conductive material forms coupling means.
