Claims
- 1. A heat softenable, hopper feedable plastic molding pellet of elongated and uniform cross-sectional configuration containing randomly folded reinforcing fibers, the unfolded length of the fibers exceeding the largest linear dimension of the pellet, the pellet dimension in the direction of elongation being not more than four times the average of the maximum and minimum cross-sectional dimensions.
- 2. The pellet of claim 1 further including a foaming agent within the pellet.
- 3. The pellet of claim 1 wherein the cross-sectional configuration is square.
- 4. The pellet of claim 1 wherein the cross-sectional configuration is circular.
- 5. The pellet of claim 1 wherein the cross-sectional configuration is oval.
- 6. The pellet of claim 1 wherein the unfolded length of the fibers is about six times the pellet dimension in the direction of elongation.
- 7. The pellet of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing fibers are resilent and, upon injection molding, tend to straighten out and resume their original unfolded length.
