Claims
- 1. A cooking unit for use with a food-heating appliance having a heating unit adapted to supply heat to the cooking unit and a control switch that supplies electricity to the heating unit, comprising:a bottom wall and at least one sidewall upstanding therefrom, the bottom and sidewall defining a cooking chamber adapted to be at least partially received within the heating unit; and at least one medial wall upstanding from the bottom wall within the cooking chamber defining first and second cooking subchambers; wherein a first wall of the first cooking subchamber has a first wall thickness and a second wall of the second cooking subchamber has a second wall thickness, and the second wall thickness being greater than the first wall thickness.
- 2. The cooking unit according to claim 1, further comprising a plurality of medial walls upstanding from the bottom wall defining a plurality of cooking subchambers.
- 3. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the cross-section of the sidewall of the cooking unit is substantially oval in cross-section.
- 4. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the sidewall of the cooking unit is substantially circular in cross-section.
- 5. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the cooking unit is removable from the heating unit.
- 6. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the cooking unit comprises a ceramic-based sidewall.
- 7. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the first wall is the bottom wall of the first cooking subchamber and the second wall is the bottom wall of the second cooking subchamber.
- 8. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the first wall is the sidewall of the first cooking subchamber and the second wall is the sidewall of the second cooking subchamber.
- 9. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the first wall is the bottom wall of the first cooking subchamber and the second wall is the sidewall of the second cooking subchamber.
- 10. The cooking unit according to claim 9, wherein the first and second cooking subchambers have different depths.
- 11. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the medial wall has a third wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness.
- 12. The cooking unit according to claim 11, wherein the third wall thickness that is less than the second wall thickness.
- 13. The cooking unit according to claim 1, wherein the first and second cooking subchambers have different volumes.
- 14. A heating unit for use with a food-heating appliance having a cooking unit with first and second cooking subchambers, comprising:at least one heating element adapted to supply heat to a heating area defined by the heating unit; and a control switch that controls the supply of electricity to the at least one heating element, wherein the at least one heating element supplies heat asymmetrically to the respective first and second cooking subchambers.
- 15. The heating unit of claim 14, wherein the at least one heating element consists of a single heating element that supplies heat asymmetrically to the respective first and second cooking subchambers.
- 16. The heating unit of claim 14, wherein the at least one heating element comprises of a hot-plate type heating element.
- 17. The heating unit of claim 14, wherein the at least one heating element comprises first and second heating elements such that the first heating element supplies heat to the first cooking subchamber and the second heating element supplies heat to the second cooking subchamber.
- 18. The heating unit of claim 17, further comprising first and second controls that control the heat supplied to the respective first and second heating elements.
- 19. A food-heating appliance kit, comprising:a heating unit defining a heating chamber and comprising at least one heating element adapted to supply heat to the heating chamber; a first cooking unit adapted to be at least partially received within the heating chamber; and a second cooking unit adapted to be at least partially received within the heating chamber; the second cooking unit having at least one medial wall that defines first and second cooking subchamber; and wherein the first and second cooking subchambers are asymmetrically heatable by the heating unit.
- 20. A heating unit of claim 19, further comprising:a third cooking unit adapted to be at least partially received within the heating chamber; the third cooking unit having a plurality of medial walls that define a plurality of cooking subchamber; and wherein the plurality of cooking subchambers are asymmetrically heatable by the heating unit.
