Claims
- 1. A forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission, comprising:an input shaft having a diameter and an axial length longer than said diameter; a planetary gear set having, a sun gear provided on said input shaft, a ring gear, a planet carrier being configured to output power, said planet carrier having a carrier member having an output part positioned on an inner periphery of said planet carrier, and a double planetary gear being axially supported by said planet carrier; a reverse brake being configured to facilitate and prohibit rotation of said ring gear; and a forward clutch being configured to couple and release said input shaft to and from said planet carrier.
- 2. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 1, wherein said output part of said carrier member is disposed radially inward relative to said double planetary gear.
- 3. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 2, wherein a hollow part opens at a tip and is formed in a tip of said input shaft and said output part of said carrier member is disposed inside said hollow part.
- 4. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 3, wherein said sun gear is formed on an external circumferential surface of said input shaft near a tip thereof and said output part of said carrier member is positioned radially inward with respect to said sun gear.
- 5. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 4, wherein said carrier member has a main body part, said output part is cylindrical and formed integrally with said main body part so as to bend therefrom, said output part is disposed inside said hollow part, and spline slots are formed on an internal circumferential surface of said output part.
- 6. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 1, wherein said reverse brake comprises a plurality of brake plates that configured to contact each other via a piston.
- 7. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 1, wherein said forward clutch comprises a clutch drum configured to contact said input shaft.
- 8. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 7, wherein said forward clutch further comprises first and second clutch plates arranged inside said clutch drum configured to contact each other via a piston.
- 9. The forward-reverse rotation device for a continuously variable transmission according to claim 7, whereinsaid clutch drum comprises first splines, said first splines having an annular first groove extending in a circumferential direction, said output shaft comprises second splines configured to mesh with said first splines, said second splines have an annular second groove extending in position corresponding to said first annular groove, and a retaining ring is arranged in said first and second grooves.
