DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The Fridge/Freezer Miser is a new device that has specific time settings that allow the appliance such as refrigerator or freezer to operate the pump or compressor in time intervals resulting in about half the amount the compressor runs. The device has 3 program settings as follows: (Program A) is set at 5:00 am on a 1 hour run time and 8:30 am on a 2 hour run time and 12:30 pm on a 1 hour run time and 3:00 pm on a 0.75 hour run time and 6:00 pm on a 1 hour run time and 8:00 pm on a 0.75 run time and 10:00 pm on a 1.5 hour run time. This Program A equals total running time (for a 24 hour day) of 8 hours which 66.6% of the average running time for this type of refrigerator with a family of 3 to 5. (Program B) is set at 5:00 am on a 1 hour run time and 8:30 am on a 1.5 hour run time and 1:00 pm on a 1.25 hour run time and 5:00 pm on a 1 hour run time and 10:00 pm on a 2 hour run time. This Program B equals (for a 24 hour day) 6.75 hours which is 56% of the average running time for a refrigerator of this type with 1 person in the household. (Program C) is the setting for freezers which is 7:00 am on a 2 hour run time and 2:00 pm on a 2 hour run time and 10:00 pm on a 2 hour run time to total (for a 24 hour day) of 6 hours running time which is 50% of the average running time for a freezer of this type.

Claims
  • 1. The device has a pre-programmable ability to allow 3 specific time settings to allow the refrigerator or freezer run about half the amount of time of normal running time by cutting the flow of electricity at certain times of the day.
  • 2. The device allows for constant food freshness temperatures while allowing the refrigerator or freezer to run about half the amount of time saving energy on the monthly bill cycle.
  • 3. The device allows the consumer to set the main switch to the desired setting for the consumer.
