Claims
- 1. In a fruit juice extracting machine of the type having a pair of opposing endless cup chains extending around a reamer wheel rotatable about a horizontal axis and having a plurality of spaced apart reamers for reaming fruit halves contained in cups on the cup chains, with a peel chute positioned in between the cup chains and behind the reamer wheel, for collecting and channeling fruit peels ejected from the cups, the improvement comprising:
- a bulkhead panel separating the peel chute from the reamer wheel.
- 2. In a fruit juice extracting machine of the type having a pair of opposing endless cup chains extending around a reamer wheel rotatable about a horizontal axis and having a plurality of spaced apart reamers for reaming fruit halves contained in cups on the cup chains, and including a peel chute and machine supporting structure, the improvement comprising:
- a pair of cup tracks positioned adjacent to and on either side of the reamer wheel, each cup track having a backing guide, a ramp surface adjoining the backing guide, and a side plate within the ramp surface, with the side plate substantially closing off one side of the reamer wheel; and
- a bulkhead adjoining the cup tracks and separating the peel chute from the reamer wheel.
- 3. The machine of claim 2 wherein the bulkhead and cup tracks substantially enclose the reamer wheel.
- 4. The machine of claim 1 wherein the peel chute includes a rear surface having a plurality of openings.
- 5. The machine of claim 1 wherein the bulkhead extends substantially across the width of the machine.
- 6. The machine of claim 2 further comprising a filler plate attached to and flush with the side plate.
- 7. The machine of claim 2 further comprising an idler wheel supporting each cup chain, with each idler wheel including a cover plate.
- 8. The machine of claim 7 further comprising a prong on each idler wheel extending towards an idler axle supporting the idler wheel.
- 9. The machine of claim 4 wherein the bulkhead extends between the top and bottom of the cup tracks, and substantially across the width of the machine.
- 10. The machine of claim 2 wherein the ramp surface is flat.
- 11. The machine of claim 2 wherein the cup tracks, bulkhead and side plate have substantially no horizontal surfaces.
