Claims
- 1. A fuel cell assembly comprising at least one cell including an electrolyte layer, a pair of gas diffusion electrode layers interposing said electrolyte layer between them, and a pair of flow distribution plates for defining passages for fuel and oxidizer gases that contact said gas diffusion electrode layers, characterized by that:
a heater and/or a sensor for detecting at least a member of a group consisting of temperature, gas flow rate and gas pressure is integrally formed with at least one of said flow distribution plates.
- 2. A fuel cell assembly according to claim 1, wherein said sensor and/or heater is formed on said flow distribution plate by depositing a film of material therefore in a prescribed pattern.
- 3. A fuel cell assembly according to claim 1, wherein each flow distribution plate is formed by performing an etching process on a substrate.
- 4. A method for fabricating a fuel cell assembly comprising at least one cell including an electrolyte layer, a pair of gas diffusion electrode layers interposing said electrolyte layer between them, and a pair of flow distribution plates for defining passages for fuel and oxidizer gases that contact said gas diffusion electrode layers, characterized by the step of:
forming a heater and/or a sensor for detecting at least a member of a group consisting of temperature, gas flow rate and gas pressure by depositing a film of material therefor on at least one of said flow distribution plates.
- 5. A method for fabricating a fuel cell assembly according to claim 4, further comprising the step of forming each flow distribution plate by performing an etching process on a substrate;
the step of forming a heater and/or a sensor being conducted in succession to the step of forming each flow distribution plate.
