Claims
- 1. In a hose assembly for a system comprising a liquid fuel source, a dispensing nozzle and said hose assembly that has a first fluid passage therein for conveying said liquid fuel in one direction from said source to said nozzle that is adapted to dispense said liquid fuel into a container and a second fluid passage therein for returning the vapors of said liquid fuel from said container, said hose assembly comprising a flexible inner hose having an outer peripheral surface and defining said first fluid passage therein, and a flexible outer hose having an inner peripheral surface and being disposed around said inner hose, said inner peripheral surface of said outer hose and said outer peripheral surface of said inner hose defining said second fluid passage therebetween, said hose assembly having a venturi section therein that tends to remove liquid from a normal drape area of said hose assembly when the same is being utilized to dispense said liquid fuel into said container, said venturi section having opposed ends, said inner hose having two flexible sections respectively provided with inner ends that are respectively interconnected to said opposed ends of said venturi section, the improvement wherein said venturi section has inlet means that is adapted to be positioned in said second fluid passage generally at the actual drape area of said hose assembly even when said actual drape area is disposed intermediate said normal drape area and said nozzle or is disposed intermediate said normal drape area and said source as well as when said actual drape area is disposed generally at said normal drape area, said inlet means comprising flexible tube means interconnected to said venturi section.
- 2. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said flexible tube means has a plurality of inlets respectively disposed in different positions in said second fluid passage.
- 3. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 2 wherein said flexible tube means comprises a plurality of flexible tubes each having one of said inlets.
- 4. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 3 wherein each of said tubes has an outlet end interconnected to said venturi section.
- 5. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 3 wherein one of said tubes has an outlet end interconnected to said venturi section, another of said tubes having an outlet end interconnected to said one tube intermediate said outlet end of said one tube and said inlet of said one tube.
- 6. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 3 wherein each said inlet comprises a C-shaped member that encircles part of said inner hose.
- 7. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 3 wherein each said inlet comprises an annular member that encircles said inner hose.
- 8. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said flexible tube means comprises a single flexible tube having an outlet end interconnected to said venturi section and an inlet end movable in said second fluid passage so as to position itself by gravity at said actual drape area of said hose assembly.
- 9. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 8 wherein said inlet end comprises a wheeled member.
- 10. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 8 wherein said flexible tube is helically disposed on said inner hose in a spring-like manner between said outlet end and said inlet end thereof.
- 11. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said venturi section has a medial portion that is disposed generally in said normal drape area of said hose assembly.
- 12. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said venturi section is disposed generally intermediate said normal drape area of said hose assembly and said nozzle.
- 13. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said flexible tube means comprises a single flexible tube having a plurality of inlets respectively disposed in different axial positions in said second fluid passage.
- 14. A hose assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said flexible tube means comprises a plurality of flexible tubes interconnected together in series to provide a single length leading from said venturi section, said single length having a plurality of inlets respectively disposed in different axial positions in said second fluid passage.
