Claims
- 1. A composition for inhibiting the growth of a fungus comprising, as an active ingredient, an effective amount of a biologically pure culture of Bacillus subtilis FERM BP-3418.
- 2. The composition of claim 1, which is effective to inhibit the growth of a pathogenic fungus originating from an animal or a plant.
- 3. The composition of claim 2, which is effective to inhibit the growth of said fungus when applied to soil.
- 4. The composition of claim 1, which is a diluted culture of Bacillus subtilis FERM BP-3418.
- 5. The composition of claim 1, which is a suspension of cells of Bacillus subtilis FERM BP-3418.
- 6. The composition of claim 1, which further comprises an aged vegetable organic substance.
- 7. A method for inhibiting or controlling a pathogenic fungus on a plant, which comprises:
- applying an effective amount of a biologically pure culture of Bacillus subtilis FERM BP-3418 to said plant to inhibit or control said pathogenic fungus.
- 8. A method for inhibiting or controlling a pathogenic fungus on an animal, which comprises:
- applying an effective amount of a biologically pure culture of Bacillus subtilis FERM BP-3418 to said animal to inhibit or control said pathogenic fungus.
