DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a fixture for a piece of furniture in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises at least one post 3, at least one mounting member 1 separated from the post 3, and at least one fixing unit 2 mounted on the mounting member 1 and secured to the post 3 to attach the mounting member 1 to the post 3. Thus, the mounting member 1 is affixed to the post 3 by the fixing unit 2.

The post 3 can be combined with a piece of furniture, such as a cabinet, a cupboard, a closet and the like. The post 3 is provided with at least one fixing track 30 which has an upper narrow portion 31 and an inner wide portion 32. The mounting member 1 has a connecting portion 10.

The fixing unit 2 includes an abutting member 20 secured on the fixing track 30 of the post 3, and a fastening member 21 connected with the connecting portion 10 of the mounting member 1 and the abutting member 20 to attach the mounting member 1 to the post 3. The abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 has a width slightly smaller than the upper narrow portion 31 of the fixing track 30 of the post 3 and has a length slightly greater than the inner wide portion 32 of the fixing track 30 of the post 3. The abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is provided with two diagonally opposite arcuate guide portions 22. The fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 fixes the mounting member 1 and the abutting member 20.

In practice, the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is secured on the fixing track 30 of the post 3, and the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 fixes the mounting member 1 and the abutting member 20, so that the mounting member 1 is located on any proper position of the fixing track 30 of the post 3 quickly, solidly and stably. Thus, the mounting member 1 is affixed to the post 3 by the fixing unit 2.

In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the mounting member 1 is a track cover 4 of a drawer, the connecting portion 10 of the mounting member 1 is a through hole 40, and the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is a screw 23.

In assembly, the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is extended through the connecting portion 10 of the mounting member 1 and is screwed into the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 so that the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 combines the mounting member 1 and the abutting member 20 as shown in FIG. 3. Then, the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is moved toward the fixing track 30 of the post 3, with shorter ends of the abutting member 20 passing through the upper narrow portion 31 of the fixing track 30. Then, the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is rotated to rotate the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 through ninety degrees (90°), so that longer ends of the abutting member 20 abuts the inner wide portion 32 of the fixing track 30 and is limited by the upper narrow portion 31 of the fixing track 30 as shown in FIG. 4. Thus, the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is locked onto the fixing track 30 of the post 3 to attach the mounting member 1 to the post 3. Then, the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is further rotated to affix the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 and the mounting member 1 to the fixing track 30 of the post 3.

Alternatively, referring to FIGS. 5-7 with reference to FIG. 1, the mounting member 1 is a support bar 5 of a mirror and has a substantially U-shaped mounting portion 50, the connecting portion 10 of the mounting member 1 is a through hole 51, and the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is a screw 23.

6. 7. Thus, the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is locked onto the fixing track 30 of the post 3 to attach the mounting member 1 to the post 3. At this time, the mounting portion 50 of the mounting member 1 is mounted on the fixing track 30 of the post 3 as shown in FIG. 7. Then, the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is further rotated to affix the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 and the mounting member 1 to the fixing track 30 of the post 3.

Alternatively, referring to FIGS. 8-10 with reference to FIG. 1, the mounting member 1 is a movable hanging bar 6, the connecting portion 10 of the mounting member 1 is a slot 60, the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is a plug 24, and the fixing unit 2 further includes a mounting plate 25 located between the fastening member 21 and the abutting member 20. Preferably, the mounting plate 25, the abutting member 20 and the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 are formed integrally.

In assembly, the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 is inserted into the connecting portion 10 of the mounting member 1 so that the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 combines the mounting member 1 and the abutting member 20 as shown in FIG. 9. Then, the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is moved toward the fixing track 30 of the post 3, with shorter ends of the abutting member 20 passing through the upper narrow portion 31 of the fixing track 30. Then, the mounting member 1 is rotated to rotate the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 through ninety degrees (90°), so that longer ends of the abutting member 20 abuts the inner wide portion 32 of the fixing track 30 and is limited by the upper narrow portion 31 of the fixing track 30 as shown in FIG. 10. Thus, the abutting member 20 of the fixing unit 2 is locked onto the fixing track 30 of the post 3 to attach the mounting member 1 to the post 3. At this time, the mounting plate 25 of the fixing unit 2 abuts the fixing track 30 of the post 3 as shown in FIG. 10.

Alternatively, referring to FIG. 11 with reference to FIGS. 8-10, the mounting plate 25 and the fastening member 21 of the fixing unit 2 are formed integrally. In addition, the mounting plate 25 of the fixing unit 2 is formed integrally with a connecting section 26 connected with the abutting member 20.

Accordingly, the mounting member 1 is located on any proper position of the fixing track 30 of the post 3 by fixing of the fixing unit 2 so that the mounting member 1 is affixed to the post 3 solidly and stably. In addition, the mounting member 1 is mounted on the fixing track 30 of the post 3 by operation of the fixing unit 2 so that the mounting member 1 is attached to the post 3 easily and quickly.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
